Hidetaka Tenjin, Macross Artist, to be Otakon 2023 Guest

Hidetaka Tenjin

Hidetaka Tenjin, best known for work related to the “Macross” anime series, will be a guest at Otakon 2023.

Tenjin works primarily as an illustrator, designer, and concept artist and has provided illustrations for model kits ranging from Hasegawa’s “Macross” line to Bandai Spirits’ “Gundam” and “Star Wars” lines. His most notable contributions to anime include mechanical art for “Macross Zero,” “Macross Frontier,” “Aquarion,” and creating mechanical designs for “Hellsing,” “Macross Delta,” “Knight’s & Magic,” “Super Robot Wars T,” “Back Arrow,” and “Yasuke.” He also provided mechanical imagery and animation direction on “Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2205.”

Most recently, in 2022, he designed a four-legged robot for Sansei Technologies and was also the recipient of Comic Con International’s prestigious Inkpot Award. Six volumes of his collected works have been released, five in Japan and one internationally.

Otakon 2023 will be held from July 28 to July 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Otakon Adds Nobutoshi Canna as a Guest

Voice actor Nobutoshi Canna will be joining the guest roster for Otakon 2018.

Canna has voiced some popular anime characters, including Basara Nekki from Macross 7,
Chulainn/Lancer in the Fate series, Guts in Berserk, Kabuto in Naruto, as well as Gengar and Knuckles.

Otakorp would like to thank Aoni Production Co. for helping to bring Canna to this year’s convention.

Otakon 2018 will be held August 10-12, 2018 at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
