Super-Articulate: A Column Teaser
Greetings, GraphicyPolicy.com! This is Troy Brownfield. There’s a chance that you know my work from comics (like Blood Queen or Sparkshooter), or other comics sites, or The Saturday Evening Post. If not, you should know this: I’ve been collecting action figures since the 1970s. Yes, I’m old. Apart from that I’ve written about figures for outlets like Newtype USA magazine and other comics sites. Now, thanks to Brett, I’ll be writing about those things here on a regular basis. My focus is going to be on items primarily related to comics, and more specifically, to the Big Two. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t get into other topics. We have lots of room.
As for the title, I’m calling this joint Super-Articulate, which is the name of a former figure column of mine. No one else is using it, it’s a fine name, and I like it. I’m happy to take it back.
In the first couple of installments, I’m going to break down the latest Marvel Legends assortment, which is the Captain Marvel wave with the Kree Sentry Build-A-Figure. In addition to the Kree Sentry, seven figures feature in the wave, plus two takes on Carol Danvers’s cat, Goose. My own cat, Loki, is fairly excited to see some feline representation in the wave. Just look.

Expect to see me breaking these down soon. I like to pepper my reviews with pictures and some comic history. I’ll frequently put new figures alongside others for perspective (for example, we’ll get that MCU Carol alongside the Odin wave Carol for comparison). And there will be terrible jokes. Oh, so many terrible jokes. At any rate, I hope that you read and enjoy and join the conversation. Captain Marvel first, the DC Multiverse Spoiler soon, and much more to come. Thanks for reading.
