Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Kill Team gets the spotlight

It’s a pre-order week packed with Kill Team releases from Games Workshop.

Kill Team: Blood and Zeal is the big release, the latest expansion for the game. The Massif Ballistus is preparing to fire, but as masses gather to perform the proper rituals in the sprawling foundry district of Cascabael, the Goremongers of Khorne slaughter their way through the crowds in an effort to sabotage the shot. Only the Sanctifiers stand in their way.

Kill Team: Blood and Zeal features two new Kill Teams. The Sanctifiers are nine Imperial Zealots who take on The Goremongers, cybernetically enhanced operatives who worship Khorne.

The box also includes a Shrine statue for your forces to genuflect before – or desecrate, as appropriate, as well as a 56-page Blood and Zeal dossier containing background lore for the conflict, rules for the kill teams and new missions. There are also tokens and datacards for both kill teams, and a deck of cards for the new missions.

Kill Team: Ratlings get a release along with their Datacards. The set contains 10 Ratlings who can be built either as regular troopers or specialists like the Big Shot, Hardbit, Raider, Slashmaster and Vox-thief, as well as a Battlemutt and three tokens (two tripwires and an ammo cache). You also get a set of unique tokens for use in games. The deck contains 38 Datacards comprising faction rules and equipment, unique ploys, operative profiles and other helpful information.

Ork fans won’t have to wait much longer for Kill Team: Wrecka Krew and their Datacards. The Wrecka Crew miniatures can be used in Kill Team or Warhammer 40,000 and can be built as various specialists, including a Boss Nob, a Demolisha, a Krusha or a Rokkiteer, alongside two unlucky Bomb Squigs. The box includes a set of unique tokens for use in games of Kill Team and a transfer sheet comprising 438 decals. There’s 33 Datacards in that release that contains faction rules and equipment, unique ploys, operative profiles and other helpful information.

Upgrade your tabletop with Killzone Upgrade: Compound Siege. It contains 14 plastic terrain pieces: two Bunkers, six Fire Steps, and six Stockades which are designed to be used with Killzone Volkus. Rules for using the terrain and its associated mission pack will be available to download from Warhammer Community shortly after release.

Games Workshop reveals Kill Team: Blood and Zeal

Games Workshop has revealed a new expansion for Kill Team, Blood and Zeal. The expansion adds to new kill teams, a mission-packed dossier full of lore and rules, and expands upon Killzone Volkus, and adds cards and tokens for both teams.

The first team are the Sanctifiers, a band of 11 Ecclesiarchal militiamen dedicated to protecting the Imperium. With a lack of armor, they make up for it with raw grit fighting through injuries. Many are equipped with searing flame weapons, delivering a punch at close range. They feature a Drill Abbot and Death Cult Assassin.

The Goremongers are eight mortal servants of Khorne. They’ve witnessed a Bloodletter in combat and survived the encounter making them obsessed with the Blood God’s wrath.

Along with the two teams you get the Imperial Shrine Statue as a centerpiece for the terrain table.

The Dossier contains new mechanics including a new deck of Blood and Zeal cards. Drawing a card in-game could give you a sudden stroke of good fortune as the divine cast their gaze over your battlefield and bequeath the faithful with powerful abilities. Also included ins a token sheet with everything you need to play both kill teams from the get-go.
