Kabam is starting the new year off BIG for its popular mobile fighter Marvel Contest of Champions with all-new Champions, the premiere of a new Deathless trailer, kicking off its annual Summoner’s Choice Champion Vote, the relaunch of its popular Summoner’s Sigil market, and more! Check below for a breakdown of what Marvel Contest of Champions has in store for its players in the coming weeks.

SUMMONER’S CHOICE 2025 IS HERE

It’s that time of the year where players have the chance to participate and vote for a new powerful Champion to bring to The Contest in the annual Summoner’s Choice Champion Vote. This year, MCoC is looking for Champions who are skillful with a sword, or more interested in using their fists than their words. See details of each Champion listed below and how to participate in the first round of voting!

• HELLCAT – A lifelong Super Hero fan who trained and schemed to become one herself.
• DAREDEVIL (ELEKTRA) – A former assassin taking up the mantle of Daredevil to protect Hell’s Kitchen from crime and corruption.
• MR. KNIGHT – A man of many minds, and unquestionable style. Empowered by the moon to seek out vengeance and justice.
• HUNTER’S MOON – This doctor’s life was saved by Khonshu and he went from unbeliever to devoted follower.
• POWER MAN – Son of a Super Villain, survivor of tragedy, empowered by his past as he fights for a better future.
• COLLEEN WING – This descendant of Samurai is an expert martial artist. Additionally known as a Private investigator, defender of the defenseless, and talented addition to any team.
• THE SHROUD – Painful ancient rituals granted Max Coleridge dark powers and an unwavering drive to fight against crime.
• ECHO – Maya’s photographic reflexes allow her to mimic anyone she watches, be they acrobat, musician, or deadly martial artist.

HOW TO VOTE — For those who missed out on the first round of voting, players can look forward to casting their votes towards their favorite character in ROUND 2, kicking off this Friday, Jan. 10. There are a few ways for players to get their hands on votes to cast for their Champion of choice, here’s how!

• Claim a “Selector” from the in-game mail and choose your Champion. Players will then receive 5 Votes that will go to the Champion that was selected. After that, players can complete the Champion’s Choice Solo Objectives to earn more votes toward the Champion that was selected at the start of the first round of voting. *Players will be able to select a Champion to cast their vote each new round.
• To receive even more votes, players can head over to the Marvel Contest of Champions Webstore daily for a bonus 5 votes that can be used on any Champion of choice, so make sure to check in daily while the polls are open! *Bonus votes can be obtained each new round during the voting periods.
• The winner will be announced on January 31 during MCoC’s livestream at https://www.twitch.tv/kabam.

NEW YEAR NEW CHAMPIONS

General of the Dora Milaje OKOYE and Wakandan mutant GENTLE have been introduced to The Contest! Players will have the opportunity to obtain Okoye on January 16, while Gentle can be obtained on January 30. With over 280 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic Marvel Super Heroes and villains such as Black Panther, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and more.

GENTLE

Nezhno Abidemi is a Wakanda-born mutant that suffered persecution and rejection for most of his early life. At the behest of his wife Ororo Munroe, King T’Challa eventually sent Nezhno to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters where he earned the nickname Gentle for his calm and non-violent nature.

OKOYE

An experienced warrior and member of the Dora Milaje, Okoye fights alongside and protects the King of Wakanda, the Black Panther. With unrivaled close-combat expertise, and a matching degree of wisdom, there are few who can survive an encounter against Okoye.

DEATHLESS SAGA CONTINUES

The Deathless have been testing The Summoner to see if they are worthy of joining their ruthless ranks. Though they have defeated four of the Deathless so far, Deathless Thanos still needs further proof of their brutality in battle and wisdom in war. So as the Deathless continue to spread destruction and mayhem, The Summoner will be tasked with constant tests of strength. Beginning January 8, players will experience a unique permanent Quest “The Mausoleum”. At the end of the road, Deathless Thanos awaits as the Final Boss, and only by fully exploring the Quest can players acquire this potent Champion. Check out an all-new Deathless cinematic trailer and prepare to prove your strength or EMBRACE OBLIVION!

SUMMONER SIGIL–UPDATED

Kabam is relaunching Summoner’s Sigil on January 27th – A monthly subscription service with revamped perks and improved rewards! New perks include 30% Boost to Attack and Health to help new players breeze through Story Quest Acts 1-6!

Kabam debuted a 10-Year Anniversary Celebration video showcasing the game’s legacy since its 2014 launch. This recaps their epic partnerships with iconic brands, celebrity fans and content creators; highlights its 280+ playable Champions; spotlights Birthday wishes from its fans and the team that helped create MCoC, and more. 

WELCOME ISOPHYNE TO THE CONTEST

First revealed at New York Comic Con, Isophyne, an all-new original Marvel Champion is now available to obtain in The Battlerealm! Isophyne is a living iso-sphere – a powerful, artificial life-form created to protect the Battlerealm from invaders. Isophyne’s qualities, characteristics, and abilities are distinctly tied to The Battlerealm and the history of The Contest. Kabam has rolled out the red carpet debuting MCoC’s Annual Trailer “Rise of the Eidols” narrated by actress Erika Ishii voicing the protector of The Battlerealm Isophyne! 

Take a deep dive with the creators behind Isophyne in a BTS trailer. Isophyne joins the legacy of Kabam original Champions including Chee’ilth, Aegon, Morningstar, Guillotine 2099, and Purgatory.

ANNIVERSARY EVENTS AND FEATURE UPDATES

The Grand Banquet 

Celebrate with the return of the Banquet Event! These celebrations will feature special Calendars, Quests, Double Track and Realm Events; as well as holiday gifts, crystals and more. The Grand Banquet will also feature a new event known as the Glorious Guardians Banquet Box. Acquire 6 Banquet Keys throughout objectives in The Contest and you will receive all 6 Glorious Guardians (Purgatory, Medusa, Black Panther [Civil War], Deadpool [X-Force], Sentry and Sentinel).

Grand 10×10 Supply Drop

Kabam’s most GENEROUS giveaway! From December 10 through December 19 at 4pm PT, new and existing players can check in to The Contest every day to be rewarded with a free Champion in the Grand 10×10 Supply Drop. All Summoners who check in for the full drop will get a free Isophyne. Summoners who have progressed in the game that are Paragon or higher will be receiving 10x 7-Star Champions for FREE!

Summoner Level Cap Increase

There’s always room to master new skills–Kabam is increasing item capacity, adding new cosmetics, and raising the cap on Summoner Levels in MCoC! You will now be able to reach new heights by climbing to level 70. Players can open their Summoner profile where they can currently view up to level 65, with levels 66-70 being revealed in 2025. Levels between 61 and 70 will contain long-awaited additional mastery points, so the climb will take hard work and determination. Start hunting down Refined XP and take your account to the next level!

Menu Background Visual Overhaul

For the first time in many years we’ve updated the 3D backgrounds in the Home Screen and Crystal Vault just in time for the 10 Year-Anniversary! Enjoy improved Character Visuals, updated Environment scenes, and removed loading screens in and out of the Crystal Vault.

Website Redesign 

Kabam redesigned MCoC’s Home page, Champion Spotlights page, and added an Events page for accessible navigation and tracking of the latest in-game updates and activities.

Glorious Guardian Reworks

Continuing reworks of fan favorite Champions to maintain balance with the ever-growing roster of Champions, players can look forward to a buffed Sentry, Sentinel and Deadpool (X-Force). Champions Medusa (first introduced in 2017), Purgatory (first introduced in 2021), and Black Panther–Civil War (first introduced in 2014) have already received the new treatment and players can experience their redesign now!

Summoner’s Choice Champion Vote 2025

MCoC’s annual fan vote event is back again and Summoner’s can look forward to casting their choice for the next Champion to enter The Battlerealm.

Additionally, Kabam has been giving out free Champions in their Early Bird Rewards if you register your email over at Playcontestofchampions.com. Register now by Dec. 6 to receive Purgatory and stay updated on MCoC’s 10th Anniversary rewards and news.

10-Year celebrations continue for Kabam’s popular mobile fighter Marvel Contest of Champions with the official introduction of 60 frames per second launching this Monday, Nov. 4! 60FPS is a milestone update for MCoC, allowing its players to experience fluid, action-packed gameplay. Check out a side-by-side video of 60FPS gameplay in motion below. The new month also welcomes new Champions with X-men Spiral and Dazzler!

Set a reminder! Players will have the opportunity to obtain Spiral on November 14, while Dazzler can be obtained on December 9. With over 280 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic Marvel Super Heroes and villains such as Dani Moonstar, Longshot, Cable, and more.

CHARACTER BIOS

Spiral

Spiral is a six-armed sorceress and swordswoman originating from Mojoworld. Once a talented stuntwoman named Rita Wayword, she was cybernetically transformed by the loathsome Mojo, whom she was forced to serve. Initially an adversary to Longshot and the X-Men, she eventually made amends, and has fought beside them on many occasions. Her magic is powered by dance-like progressions of Wushu forms, which she further enhances with her many arms and armaments.

Dazzler

Alison Blaire, better known by her stage name Dazzler, is a famous singer and powerful Mutant with the ability to convert sound into stunning displays of light. While she tries to focus on her music career, Alison constantly seems to get roped into saving the world. Whether she winds up fighting alongside the X-Men, thrown into deep space, or even pulled into alternate dimensions, Dazzler always maintains her rhythm.

Glykhan has self-destructed but the sinister plotting of Ouroboros is far from over. However clues for where to head next seem few and far between. Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom send The Summoner on an intel retrieval mission, but they aren’t the only ones looking for answers. Will the past come back to haunt The Battlerealm? Set your reminders! Count Nefaria arrives in-game on September 12 and Shathra on September 26. Players can get an early look at the new Champions with their pre-release bundles dropping on September 5 for Count Nefaria, and September 17 for Shathra. Glorious Games

Introducing the third Saga: Glorious Games! To celebrate the history of The Contest and his triumphant return, The Maestro has declared four months of celebratory games. Each month of the Saga will revolve around a different element of games, starting with September’s Circus Maximus and culminating in the celebration of December’s Grand Banquet! Featuring a classical antiquity aesthetic, an exciting Champion chase, surprise Champion reworks and brand new kinds of Events and Quests, Glorious Games is sure to usher in our 10-year anniversary celebration in style!

CHARACTER BIOS

Count Luchino Nefaria was the descendant of a long line of Italian noblemen, and used his wealth and connections to become a powerful leader within the Maggia crime syndicate. He furthered his rise to power by subjecting himself to scientific experiments that granted him superhuman abilities, but cost him his life. He was later resurrected as a being made entirely of Ionic energy, rendering him effectively immortal as long as he drains other Ionic beings to maintain his power.

Shathra, Daughter of Elder Goddesses Oshtur and Gaea, comes from the world that would come to be known as Loomworld. Shathra was tasked with creating the Celestial Map of Humanity – however, after being outdone by younger sister Neith, she became enraged with jealousy and spite towards her sister and the Great Web she had designed. Consumed by her vengeance and envy, Shathra gave into her feral nature to tear down everything her sister created, one Spider at a time.

This month Kabam unveiled the highly trained mercenary Silver Sable and X-Men mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead as the newest Champions to join its popular mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions! Players can now check out Silver Sable and Negasonic Teenage Warhead Deep Dive and Special Moves content on the official MARVEL Contest of Champions YouTube channel. 

Kabam has also introduced the next Deathless Champion–DEATHLESS VISION! Watch the latest cinematic and meet the new Deathless Champion with a Hollow Heart. New and existing players can add this Champion to their roster by acquiring 5x Deathless Vision pieces by completing specific in-game activities. Set your reminders! Silver Sable arrives in-game on May 21 and Negasonic Teenage Warhead is available NOW. With over 250 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic X-Men, including Jubilee, Absolute Zero, Night Crawler and more.

Here is a quick look at what The Contest has in store this month:

Deadpool Teams up with Negasonic Teenage Warhead and the Mercs for Money to tackle a lucrative train heist for a mysterious employer. However, things quickly go south when the Mercs find out Deadpool’s been keeping secrets about the job. To make matters worse, the Mercs quickly realize they’re not the only one on the job when Silver Sable shows up to claim the same artifact.

Silver Sable, a born leader and a master of many forms of martial arts, she is a highly skilled marksman and swordsman, using her training to lead a group of reformed criminals working as mercenaries in a group known as the “Wild Pack”. As the CEO of Silver Sable International, she helps provide security, recover stolen property, and apprehend felons for big companies and even countries.

Eloise Phimister, a.k.a. Negasonic Teenage Warhead, was once a devout student of Emma Frost and was among the mutants wiped out by the wild Sentinel attack on Genosha. After being resurrected by the External Selene, Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s powers have grown, enhancing her precognition and allowing her to create fiery bursts of atomic energy as well as the ability to shape reality itself.
