Richard Corben’s Underground Work will be Collected and Restored in The Best of Fantagor

Dark Horse Books presents the next volume of the Richard Corben LibraryThe Best of Fantagor. The Best of Fantagor will collect some of Corben’s most iconic early stories and collaborations originally published in his own self-produced comic series, Fantagor, like the complete Razar the Unhero trilogy (completely compiled for the first time), “Twilight of the Dogs,” “The Temple,” and more. Additional writers include Jan Strnad and Doug Moench, with all illustrations by Corben and restorations by project art director José Villarrubia. The book will also feature an introduction by one of the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman.

This collection brings together some of Corben’s most iconic early stories, originally published in his own self-produced comic series Fantagor, in a definitive edition that reveals the raw power of his early imagination. It includes an eclectic mix of science fiction, horror, surreal comedy, and full-on psychedelic storytelling. Readers will find postapocalyptic fables, bizarre creature features, twisted fairy tales, and two rarely seen photo comics. The collection includes seven high fantasy tales, three comedic stories, two sci-fi works, and several unclassifiable ones:
