UDON Entertainment’s Robotech Visual Archive: The Macross Saga

Robotech is a sweeping science-fiction anime epic in which humans use a vast arsenal of transforming robotic mecha to defend the Earth against alien domination. The franchise has captivated fans for over 30 years, and is widely credited with popularizing anime around the world. Now, UDON Entertainment has teamed up with Harmony Gold to produce Robotech Visual Archive: The Macross Saga – the ultimate collection of artwork assembled from Robotech’s first and most iconic era.

This 248-page hardcover tome gathers classic mecha designs, dynamic character artwork, early roughs, key art, storyboards, character profiles, and more. Mecha designs are accompanied by detailed tech specs and armament info, as well as text write ups.  Additional material in the book includes a complete episode guide, an interview with Macross chief director Noboru Ishiguro, and a unique essay by Robotech producer Carl Macek on the development of the Robotech property and its place in anime history.

This book will be the first in a series of Robotech art books, with future volumes covering The Masters and The New Generation eras, as well as new material created to expand the Robotech universe for international audiences. Robotech Visual Archive: The Macross Saga arrives in stores everywhere December 2017 and will retail for $44.99.

Titan Comics’ Robotech Series To Debut At San Diego Comic-Con!

Titan Comics and Harmony Gold are excited to announce the hotly anticipated new ongoing Robotech comic series will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, featuring a special convention special cover by British Award-winning artist Rachael Stott!

Produced by Harmony Gold USA in 1985, Robotech was the gateway to anime for many US fans – its epic 85-episode series delved into humanity’s struggle against a series of alien invasions, from the gigantic Zentraedi to the mysterious Invid, battling for control of advanced alien technology that crash-landed on Earth. Against a backdrop that involved war, and romance, the powerful characterization and stunning action of the Veritech fighters that defend the Earth captured audiences and the series quickly became a cult smash.

Robotech #1 casts a fresh eye over classic characters like Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, Lynn Minmei, Roy Fokker, Claudia Grant, and Henry Gloval. Writer Brian Wood, artist Marco Turini, and colorist Marco Lesko have crafted a thrilling new tale that’s perfectly accessible to new fans, as well as providing a deeper layer of twists for old-school protoculture addicts!

Titan will present a special convention edition of Robotech which includes the entirety of Issue #1 and a brand-new cover from comic book superstar Rachael Stott.

This special edition is available to purchase at the Titan booth #5537 at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.
