Hachette Boardgames announces Slide from Gigamic

Claude Clément​, along with the Gigamic team introduce Slide — a strategic set collection game for up to six players! It will be released by Hachette Boardgames USA this March!

In Slide, you need to arrange the numbered cards in a grid, aiming to score as few points as possible. The game plays out in an intense 16 rounds, where tensions mount as players reveal cards, strategically selecting from the center to slide into their grids. Each move must be calculated, as cards can’t be placed diagonally or directly into an empty slot. But watch out, you’ll need to keep an eye on your opponents and one step ahead to win the game!

Slide challenges players to arrange numbered cards with the goal of minimizing their score. Success requires not only careful planning but also staying one step ahead of your opponents!

Fresh Challenges Await with the Akropolis: Athena Expansion

Jules Messaud and the Gigamic team introduce Akropolis Athena —an expansion to award-winning Akropolis.

The game integrates the core rules of the Akropolis base game with the added challenge of completing Construction cards to earn a section of the Athena statue and a single city tile. Each architect can complete each Construction card only once and must manage their resources and placements carefully to maximize their points.

The game concludes when there is only one tile left in the Construction Site and all the stacks have been used. Points are counted as usual, but players who have completed the Statue of Athena will gain extra points for their Stones, adding a layer of strategic depth to the gameplay. The ultimate goal is to have the most prestigious city by the end of the game, as determined by the accumulated points.

Am elegant addition to the beloved base game, Akropolis Athena will bring you back to the Mediterranean with a new set of goals to work towards. The expansion plays well with  gamers already in love with the original game and those new to its simple but strategic play.
