Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight is collected with a DC Compact Comics edition

Batman: White Knight follows the man now known as Jack Napier as he embarks on a quest to heal the city he once terrorized. After reconciling with his long-suffering partner, Harley Quinn, he sets in motion a carefully plotted campaign to discredit the one person whom he views as Gotham City’s true enemy: Batman.

His crusade exposes a decades-long history of corruption within the Gotham City Police Department and transforms Napier into a city councilman and civic hero. But when the sins of his past return to threaten everything that he has accomplished, the distinctions between savior and destroyer begin to break down for both The Joker and Batman alike—and with them any hope for Gotham’s future.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight gets a solid DC Compact Comics edition featuring two tales

Step into the shadows of Victorian Gotham where the Dark Knight confronts Jack the Ripper and a mad prophet in this genre-defining Elseworlds classic.

Before Elseworlds became a staple of DC storytelling, there was Gotham by Gaslight. This groundbreaking tale transports Batman to the gaslit streets of 19th-century Gotham, where he faces the terror of Jack the Ripper in a battle of wits and shadows. With its dark, atmospheric visuals and gripping narrative, this story redefined the boundaries of Batman’s world.

The saga continues with Master of the Future, a thrilling sequel where Batman contends with a deranged prophet seeking to halt Gotham’s evolution into the 20th century. Both stories deliver a unique blend of gothic aesthetics and superhero intrigue.

This volume collects Batman: Gotham by Gaslight #1 and Batman: Master of the Future #1.

We3 is an interesting concept but not Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s best work

V for Vendetta is a classic but its DC Compact Comics edition has some issues

Taking place in a totalitarian England following a devastating war that changed the face of the planet, V FOR VENDETTA was the inspiration for the hit 2005 movie starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving.

This amazing graphic novel spotlights a mysterious man in a white porcelain mask and his young protégé as they fight political oppressors through terrorism and seemingly absurd acts. It’s a gripping tale of the blurred lines between ideological good and evil and details a world where political and personal freedoms are non-existent.

Story: Alan Moore
Art: David Lloyd
Color: David Lloyd, Steve Whitaker, Siobhan Dodds
Letterer: Jenny O’Connor, Steve Craddock, Elita Fell

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the first DC Compact Comics Clunker with Text that’s Unreadable

Grant Morrison and Dave McKean’s all-time classic Batman story is now available in a portable, 5.5″ x 8.5″ format!

Written by legendary comics creator Grant Morrison and beautifully drawn by artist Dave McKean, Batman: Arkham Asylum stands as one of the most perennially revered Batman comics of all time. Now, this celebrated graphic novel is more accessible than ever before, in a casual reader-friendly Compact Comics Edition!

In 1920, following the death of his disturbed mother, brilliant psychologist Amadeus Arkham began the conversion of his ancestral home into a hospital for the treatment of the mentally ill.

More than half a century later, the Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane is a place of dismal corridors and oppressive shadows–a dark riddle in stone and timber, best left unsolved.

Within its claustrophobic walls, the demented and deformed enemies of the Batman brood in padded cells and unlit cellars, dreaming of a day when they might rise up and overthrow the world of reason.

That day has finally come.

It is April 1st, and the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Led by the Joker, Arkham’s inmates issue a terrible ultimatum to the man responsible for their imprisonment.

The Batman must descend into this heart of darkness, confront his greatest foes, and face the truth of his own divided identity — or condemn himself to share their fate.
