By popular demand, the dark reflection of the Transformers universe returns with IDWPublishing’s upcoming five-issue comic book miniseries, Transformers: Shattered Glass II, debuting in August!
Following the overwhelming success of 2021’s original Shattered Glass series, writer Danny Lore, artists Daniel Khanna and Guido Guidi, and colorist John-Paul Bove are back to tell more harrowing tales from this twisted alternate reality, with the new addition of artist Marcelo Matere rounding out the creative roster.
In a world where the virtuous icons you once knew are monstrously evil, Optimus Prime is a ruthless tyrant and Megatron is a compassionate peacekeeper. Cybertron sits on the brink of war as Autobots and Decepticons race to gain control of a Titan juggernaut whose raw power could decide the ultimate victor. However, while seemingly everyone is laser-focused on the Titan, the powerful shadow broker Ultra Magnus puts a sinister plan into action!
Transformers: Shattered Glass II #1 will be widely available with three cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by interior artist Marcelo Matere, Cover B by Red Powell, and a retailer incentive variant by Nick Brokenshire. Hasbro Pulse, the official marketplace for beloved Hasbro brands, will also offer exclusive variant covers of each issue.
As part of Marvel’s ongoing Marvel’s Voices series, readers everywhere will soon meet Escapade in Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1! Joining fellow LGBTQIA+ Marvel heroes this June, Escapade will debut in the book’s central story, written by acclaimed author Charlie Jane Anders and drawn by artist duo and Eisner-nominated cartoonists Ro Stein and Ted Brandt, with colors by Tamra Bonvillain.
Escapade, whose real name is Shela Sexton, is a trans mutant who can instantaneously switch physical locations with another person or trade any specific physical or abstract attribute such as possessions, organizational status, skills, superhuman powers, and even situations! Escapade is only able to maintain the power for a few hours at a time and must be within 7 feet of her target, and the more complex the switch, the higher the chance of a mishap. Luckily for Escapade, she has an invaluable partner at her side, her tech-savvy best friend Morgan Red, along with a tool belt containing an arsenal of stolen tools and devices. Together, Escapade and Morgan tear through the Marvel Universe as professional thieves, stealing from criminal and corrupt organizations…until a meeting with Emma Frost and Destiny changes the course of Escapade’s life forever.
The 20-page adventure in Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 will introduce Escapade and reveal her career as a super hero/thief, as well as explore her life as a trans mutant in the Marvel Universe. Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 only marks the beginning of Escapade’s saga as she becomes entangled with the X-Men and a deadly prophecy is unveiled in her future. Fans can look forward to Escapade’s return in the fall in a special story arc of New Mutants guest-written by Anders.
Meet Escapade and celebrate Pride Month with Marvel Comics when Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 arrives on June 22!Â

DC Pride 2022’s storytellers have ambitious goals: to deliver new stories, highlight DC’s fan-favorite LGBTQIA+ characters, and show fans more pride than ever before. DC has released more details about DC Pride 2022, including an excerpt from Nicole Maines’ introduction, the addition of Kevin Conroy (the iconic voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series), J. Bone and Aditya Bidikar to an already packed roster of talent, a first look at some of the artwork coming in from the creative teams, and more. Local comic shops are taking preorders through May 1 and the 104-page Prestige format comic will publish in print and on digital platforms on May 31.
So, what’s inside DC Pride 2022? Will there be a Harley and Ivy story? Will there be a Tim Drake story? What other characters are getting a spotlight? The answers are “yes, yes, and wait and see!” but before DC reveals of the full list of talent contributing to DC Pride 2022, please take a moment to read a passage from Nicole Maines’ introduction. The author, actress and real-life superhero is on the front lines of activism and has an important message for readers:
“Representation is something that so many take for granted. But as queer people, we have always understood not only its necessity, but its power. Seeing yourself in the media you consume is validating in a way that says, “You are not alone.”
Seeing yourself in comic books, though, in your favorite superheroes, is especially powerful. It tells us that not only are there other people like us out there (something that this young trans girl growing up in rural Maine desperately needed), but that they stand alongside the very best of us.
They are the best of us.
Superheroes set the bar and they set it high. Because if you can be a superhero, you can be anything. And superheroes are categorized as such not due to their superhuman abilities, extraterrestrial origins, or truly fabulous fashion choices. They are superheroes because they stand up for what is right against any odds.
It is their courage that sets them apart.” —Nicole Maines, DC Pride 2022
