Geralt must protect Dandelion in Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Last Wish

In collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the original short stories which brought to life Geralt of Rivia, continues with the Dark Horse Comics adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Last Wish. Carefully adapted by CD Projekt Red editor and writer Marcin Zwierzchowski, with the English adaptation by Stefan Kiełbasiewicz, art by Guillermo Fajardo, colors by Neeraj Menon, and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Like the previous adaptations, A Grain of Truth, The Lesser Evil, A Question of Price, The Edge of the World and The Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Last Wish will be presented in a beautiful hardcover volume. Kai Carpenter returns as the cover artist for the sixth short story adaptation.

Driven by unhealthy curiosity, Dandelion breaks a magic seal and unleashes a djinn whom he hopes will grant his wishes. Instead, the creature attacks him, leaving him with wounds only a mage can heal. Geralt rushes the bard to a nearby town, but in a city where casting spells carries heavy penalties, there is only one sorceress who might help—Yennefer of Vengerberg. Despite her beauty, grace, and zeal, can she be trusted? With the djinn set loose, Geralt is at the mercy of magic. And as a struggle for power and control begins, wishes are made, but whose are being granted?

The Witcher: The Edge of the World comes to comics

Dark Horse Books and CD PROJEKT RED continue their presentation of Andrzej Sapkowski‘s original short stories from his acclaimed collection, The Last Wish, now in graphic novel format. Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Edge of the World features another story from the collection and more monsters and mystery. A devilish tale full of shocking twists, The Edge of the World is reverently adapted by writer Magdalena Salik, with artist Tommaso Bennato, colorist Chris O’Halloran, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Like The Witcher: A Grain of Truth and The Witcher: The Lesser Evil before it, The Witcher: The Edge of the World will be presented in a beautiful hardcover volume. Kai Carpenter returns as the cover artist for the third short story adaptation.

Work is hard to come by for Geralt. And for his bardic traveling companion, Dandelion, the doldrum of the road is not a worthy subject for his rhymes or ballads. As they travel to the edge of the known world, townsfolk speak of many stories, but it seems that’s all they are-recitals of monsters and superstition-until a man follows Geralt with news of a devil scavenging the local fields. Get rid of the beast, but under no circumstances is it to be killed. Only how can Geralt hunt the creature, when there are no such things as devils?

Experience one of the stories that inspired the hit games by CD PROJEKT RED when Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Edge of the World arrives in bookstores on December 17, 2024 and in comic shops on December 18, 2024. Pre-order at your local comic shop, bookstore, Amazon, Barnes & Noble or TFAW for $17.99.

Geralt confronts evil in The Witcher: The Lesser Evil

Dark Horse Books in partnership with CD PROJEKT RED follow up the successful The Witcher: A Grain of Truth graphic novel with the second graphic novel adaptation from Andrzej Sapkowski’s acclaimed short story collection, The Last WishThe Witcher: The Lesser Evil is a standalone story that’s perfect for new and returning The Witcher fans alike. Story adaptation by Jacek Rembiś, art by Adam Gorham, colors by Jordie Bellaire, letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, and cover art by Kai Carpenter

A tragic tale of passion, vindication, and the root of evil is presented in this adaptation of the original prose short story.

In search of a reward, Geralt brings the carcass of a slain creature to a small town where he is told it may be of use to the local sorcerer—but the mage isn’t who he is alleged to be. In hiding for his life, he requests Geralt’s help in slaying the monster who seeks to murder him: a young woman said to have been born under the Curse of the Black Sun, a prophecy of inborn evil. He declares that she is more a monster than the creature presented before him.

Geralt later encounters the woman, who asserts that it is the sorcerer who is the true monster—committing unspeakable crimes at the behest of his superstitious beliefs. With the boundaries blurred between the evil that is done and the evil done in return, Geralt is met with a quandary. The face of evil is ever-changing and his verdict, whether by choice or by force, can only lead to tragedy.
