Paizo Publishing to Sponsor Gen Con

INDIANAPOLIS (May 4, 2011) Paizo Publishing, a long-time supporter of Gen Con, The Best Four Days In Gaming, is joining the growing community of sponsors as an event partner sponsor of Gen Con Indy 2011. In addition to their always-packed location in the exhibit hall, where you can find them at booth number 302, Paizo Publishing has secured a dedicated game event space in rooms 231-234 of the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center.

“We’re really happy to see Paizo Publishing continue to grow its engagement of the audience of game players at Gen Con. Their game industry veterans have crafted an amazing world for sharing fun, tactical and story-based gaming. Paizo Publishing always builds excitement into their Gen Con plans. I can’t wait to see them do it again this August!” said Scott Elliott, senior director of sales at Gen Con LLC.

Erik Mona, publisher of Paizo Publishing, LLC, stated, “Gen Con is the highlight of any game company’s year. Joining Gen Con Indy as an event partner sponsor gives Paizo Publishing the chance to create an extra-special experience for our fans, and to teach our games to the curious folks who haven’t yet had the opportunity to try the Pathfinder® Roleplaying Game. We have amazing plans for this year, come join us!”

Paizo Publishing is a leading publisher of fantasy roleplaying games, accessories, board games, and novels. Paizo’s Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, the result of the largest open playtest in the history of tabletop gaming, is one of the best-selling tabletop RPGs in today’s market. Pathfinder Adventure Path is the most popular and best-selling monthly product in the tabletop RPG industry. Paizo.com is the leading online hobby retail store, offering tens of thousands of products from a variety of publishers to customers all over the world. In the nine years since its founding, Paizo Publishing has received more than forty major awards and has grown to become one of the most influential companies in the hobby games industry.

In Paizo’s Pathfinder Society Organized Play program, you play a member of the Pathfinder Society, seeking fortune and glory all over the face of Golarion, the official setting of the award-winning Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. At the same time, your character works for one of a number of competing factions, all with their own motivations and secret agendas.

Pathfinders are a diverse bunch of scoundrels and wanderers. Their loyalties lie on all shores of the Inner Sea, and beyond their adventures as Pathfinders, they often find themselves mixed up in the murky politics of Absalom and the factions who seek to control the City at the Center of the World from behind the scenes. The campaign centers on the sprawling city of Absalom, where the factions engage in a shadow war for control of the city’s politics and economy.

Pathfinder Society Organized Play is a constantly evolving mega-campaign played by thousands of players, and the adventures you experience are shared by players around the world. Play is organized into Seasons, throughout which the actions and achievements of you and your fellow Pathfinders create an ongoing storyline. Each season consists of at least 28 Pathfinder Society scenarios (short, 4-hour adventures) set in a variety of exotic locations across Golarion.
