Markosia Enterprises Celebrates 20 Years with a Year-Long Digital Comic Giveaway
Markosia Enterprises, one of the UK’s foremost independent publishers of graphic novels, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an unprecedented offer for comic book fans worldwide. Beginning Friday, October 31, 2025, the company will give away a free digital comic book every week to subscribers of their newsletter for the foreseeable future.
Founded in May 2005, Markosia has grown from humble beginnings to become a force in independent publishing, releasing more than 600 graphic novels to the global market. The company’s journey began when founder Harry Markos faced the possibility of losing his job due to a serious back injury and potential disability. Rather than accept defeat, Markos channeled his passion for sequential art into building what would become one of Britain’s most enduring independent publishers.
Over the past two decades, Markosia has built an impressive catalogue featuring acclaimed titles including Beowulf, Dark Mists, Midnight Kiss, Starship Troopers, Shadowmancer, The Lexian Chronicles, and Traveller. The company has collaborated with some of the industry’s finest talent, including Lee Garbett, Tony Lee, the late Norm Breyfogle, Ryan Stegman, Szymon Kudranski, and Inaki Miranda, among many others.
While specialising in graphic novels, Markosia has diversified its publishing portfolio to include prose fiction and children’s picture books, demonstrating the company’s commitment to storytelling across multiple formats.
The weekly digital comic giveaway begins October 31, 2025 and will continue throughout the coming year. Readers can sign up for the newsletter at www.markosia.com to receive their free weekly comic and stay updated on new
releases, creator interviews, and special announcements.
As Markosia enters its third decade, the company remains committed to championing independent voices and delivering quality storytelling to readers around the world.
