Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning repeat the Top Two for the Weekend Box Office
Lilo & Stitch took first place again this past weekend continuing a domination of the movie. While it dropped 56.9% it still grossed $63 million domestically to bring that to $280.1 million. Internationally, it grossed $172 million over the week to lift that to $330.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $610.8 million which is well over twice the original animated film grossed in its entire run.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning dipped 57.4% to gross $27.3 million domestically bringing its domestic total to $122.6 million. Internationally, the movie grossed $104.2 million over the week bringing its worldwide total to $353.8 million.
Karate Kid: Legends debuted in third place with $21 million domestically and $26 million internationally for a worldwide total debut of $47 million.
Final Destination: Bloodlines slipped to fourth place with $10.8 million to bring its domestic total to $111.7 million. It grossed $25.1 million over the week internationally to bring that to $229.3 million.
Bring Her Back debuted in fifth place grossing $7.1 million domestically and $1 million internationally for a debut of $8.1 million.
In comic movie news…
Thunderbolts* added $4.8 million to its domestic total this weekend to bring that to $181.9 million and internationally it added $6 million over the week where it has now grossed $187.7 million for a worldwide total of $369.6 million.
Captain America: Brave New World’s run looks like it has ended with $200.5 million domestically. Internationally, the movie has grossed $214.6 million for a worldwide total of $415.1 million.
The weekend box office saw a total of 62 films gross $147,039,752 from 29,921 theaters compared to last weekend’s $264,046,718 from 56 films and 27,892 theaters. This weekends average was $4,914.27 compared to last weekend’s $9,466.76.
