Hiroshi Kamiya Has Been Added to the Guest Roster for Otakon 2025

Voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya will be a guest at Otakon 2025. This will be Kamiya’s first appearance outside of Japan.

In “TOUGEN ANKI,” set to premiere in July 2025, Kamiya will play Naito Mudano. He is also widely recognized for his roles in numerous popular anime series, including Trafalgar Law in “ONE PIECE,” Levi in “Attack on Titan,” Choromatsu in “Mr. Osomatsu,” Yato in “Noragami,” and Ataru Moroboshi in “URUSEI YATSURA” among others.

Otakon 2025 will be held from August 8-10, 2025 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Big Ocean to Perform at Otakon 2025

Big Ocean

K-POP three-member group Big Ocean will be performing at Otakon 2025.

Big Ocean is a groundbreaking K-pop group that is redefining the global music scene with their powerful performances, emotional depth, and bold artistry. Debuting in 2024 under Parastar Entertainment, the trio made headlines as the first K-pop group composed entirely of hearing-impaired members, breaking barriers and reshaping perceptions of what it means to be an idol.

Jong Hoon Chae will be an Otakon 2025 Guest

Jong Hoon Chae will be a guest at Otakon 2025.

Chae is a music industry veteran in Korea specialized in publishing, master recording, and licensing. Previous projects include Taeyeon, Baekhyun, Chung Ha, IVE, NCT 127, BTS, IU, Red Velvet, etc. He is the founder of Plum Tree Songs, a music publishing company primarily focused on K-Pop, and he was the marketing manager at Universal Music Korea’s west coast labels including Interscope, Capitol, and Disney.

Miyuri Shimabukuro is coming to Otakon 2025 as a Guest

Voice actress Miyuri Shimabukuro will be a guest at Otakon 2025. She has played numerous roles in her career.

Among her roles are Yuuna Yunohara from “Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Spring” and Carole from “Carole and Tuesday.” Recently, she voiced Otoha Kurogane from “Rock is a Lady’s Modesty” which aired in April 2025.

Shinya Watada is an Otakon 2025 Guest

Animation director Shinya Watada will be a guest at Otakon 2025. He worked on “Rock is a Lady’s Modesty,” which aired in April 2025.

Working as an episode director for multiple series, he made his directorial debut with the OVA “Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: Memory of Eden.” Since then, he has worked as a director for shows such as “Gundam Build Fighters Try,” “Aikatsu Stars! the Movie,” and “Idolmaster: Million Live!”

Hidetake Nishigaya is coming to Otakon 2025

Hidetake Nishigaya will be a guest at Otakon 2025. He is an anime producer at TBS Television who worked on “Rock is a Lady’s Modesty,” which aired in April 2025.

Other shows he has worked on are “The Idaten Dieties Know Only Peace” (2021), “Mononogatari” (2023), and “Handyman Saito in Another World” (2023).

In addition to anime, Nishigaya has also worked on the overseas release of video games related to titles such as “Saint Seiya,” “Bleach,” and “Naruto.”

Shuichiro Umeda is an Otakon 2025 Guest

Voice actor Shuichiro Umeda will be a guest at Otakon 2025. He is affiliated with Ken Production and is known for various roles in anime productions.

Some of his notable roles include Chirinu Nio in “Blue Miburo”; Kazuhiko Nukumizu in “Too Many Losing Heroines!”; Jogoro Kobato in “Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary”; Koichi Himawari in “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes”; and for the Summer 2025 anime season, he is set to voice Hikaru in “The Summer Hikaru Died” and Naoto Watari in “Watari-kun’s Is About to Collapse.”

Sora Tokui Joins Guest Roster for Otakon 2025

Sora Tokui

Sora Tokui will be a guest at Otakon 2025. She is a Japanese voice actress, manga artist, and VTuber.

She made her voice acting debut in 2009 in the series “Weiß Survive R” and landed her first lead role in the following year as Nero Yuzurizaki in “Tantei Opera Milky Holmes.”

Most fans around the world know her as the iconic voice of Nico Yazawa from the “Love Live!” series and the group μ’s. As part of her work on “Love Live!” she has released numerous character songs, as well as unit songs under the subgroup BiBi. She has also performed on stage at concerts as a part of the series, culminating in the group’s final performance at Tokyo Dome in 2016.

Additionally, Tokui has also played several fan favorite characters including Hideri Kanzaki from “Blend S”; Maya Jouga
from “GochiUsa: Is the Order a Rabbit?”; Reina in “Noukin: Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!”; Akari Nitta in “Jujutsu Kaisen”; Uzuki Nakano in “Danchigai”; Nijukki Hinako in “BanG Dream!” and more. She has also been cast in the January 2025 series “I Have a Crush at Work” and the April 2025 series “The Too-Perfect Saint.”

In games, you may know her as Hook from “Honkai Star Rail”; T.M. Opera O from “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby”; Blanc from “Goddess of Victory: Nikke,” and others.

Tokui is also a manga artist, having written works such as “Mahou Shoujo Jitaku-chan,” and her work “Makeruna!! Aku no Gundan!,” which later got adapted into an anime.

In 2020, she also started a YouTube channel, and she streams on occasion with a Virtual YouTuber avatar.

Katsura Sunshine is coming to Otakon 2025 as a Guest

Katsura Sunshine will be a guest at Otakon 2025. Sunshine is the world’s only professional Rakugo storyteller performing entirely in English.

Rakugo is a 400-year-old form of Japanese comic storytelling — a one-man show where the performer sits on a cushion and brings dozens of characters to life using just a fan, a hand towel, and brilliant delivery.

Trained in Osaka under legendary master Katsura Bunshi VI, Sunshine has performed all over the world and appears regularly on Broadway in New York. His shows are funny, fast-paced, and accessible — no prior knowledge of Rakugo or Japanese culture is needed.

After the show at Otakon, he will stick around for a live Q&A session, where Sunshine will share how a Canadian guy ended up becoming a master of Japanese comedy.

Kanako Ayano is coming to Otakon 2025

Kanako Ayano will be a guest at Otakon 2025. She is an anime producer at Furyu Pictures.

Some of her known works are “Yuru CampΔ The Movie” and “Kinokoinu.” She is also the producer of the upcoming series, “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess.” Ayano’s own dark history is that she caused her middle school field trip to go into panic with her claims that she could see ghosts.
