Doom Patrol Returns on DC Universe and HBO Max on June 25

Doom Patrol

DC Universe today announced that the second season of its hit original series, Doom Patrol, is set to premiere on the digital service on Thursday, June 25.

The fan-favorite misfits of Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero – “Orange is the New Black”) Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser – “The Mummy”), Larry Trainer/Negative Man (Matt Bomer – “American Horror Story”) Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby – “Two and a Half Men”) and Vic Stone/Cyborg (Joivan Wade – “Doctor Who”) return in the second season of Doom Patrol on DC Universe, with new episodes debuting every Thursday.

DC Universe members will be able to stream all-new episodes commercial-free and in downloadable 4K Ultra HD. Additionally, members can stream the entire first season of Doom Patrol and have access to a fan community forum to discuss the latest episodes and to deep dive into all the comics that inspired the series.

DC’s strangest group of heroes are back again to save the world. Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk – “Harley Quinn”), the members of the Doom Patrol find themselves shrunken and stranded on Cliff’s toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton – “Hot Fuzz”), while confronting their own personal baggage. As each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro – “Broadway Kids Against Bullying: I Have a Voice”), Niles’ daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to bringing on the end of the world.

Doom Patrol is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with Jeremy Carver, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Chris Dingess serving as executive producers. The series is based on characters created for DC by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani.

DC’s Stargirl Gets a Brand New Trailer

DC Universe has released a brand new trailer for its upcoming original drama series, DC’s Stargirl. Serving as the official trailer available to fans before the show premieres on Monday, May 18, the new trailer includes footage from the highly anticipated program and highlights exclusive offerings DCU members will receive when they watch DC’s Stargirl directly on the subscription service.

DC Universe members will be the first to stream new episodes of DC’s Stargirl, every Monday commercial-free in downloadable 4K Ultra HD. Additionally, members will have access to several exclusive offerings, including extended versions of select episodes, behind-the-scenes footage of cast and crew, exclusive collectible pins and limited-edition posters, DCU’s fan community forum to discuss the latest episodes and access to all the comics that inspired the series.

From original creator and comic book writer Geoff Johns (executive producer of “Titans”, “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” and “The Flash”), DC’S Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) and inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The live-action superhero drama reimagines the 1999 Stargirl comics and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. DC’S Stargirl is lovingly inspired by Johns’ late sister, who was killed in a plane accident.
Johns executive produces DC’S Stargirl with Melissa Carter (“Queen Sugar”), who serves as co-showrunner, as well as Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Greg Beeman. Based on the characters from DC created by Johns, DC’S STARGIRL is produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

DC’S Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger, Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker and Hunter Sansone.
