The 2026 Ringo Awards Final Ballot Revealed

The Ringo Awards have announced the 2026 nominees! The 2026 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards are to be presented on the evening of Saturday, September 26, 2026 as part of The Baltimore Comic-Con.

The nomination process was completed with the participation of our esteemed 2026 jury as well as the voting public. Fans and comic book professionals alike showed strong support in promoting the voting process on their websites and social media feeds.

Voting on the 2026 Final Ballot is restricted to comic book industry creative community — anyone involved in and credited with creating comics professionally. We now present the 2026 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards Final Ballot.

Cosplay at the 2026 Baltimore Comic-Con

The Baltimore Comic-Con and the Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore have once again joined forces to proudly present the 2026 Cosplay Contest! The Baltimore Comic-Con will be held the weekend of September 25-27, 2026 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Tickets for admission to the event are available now!

The Adult Cosplay Contest is being held on Saturday, September 25th at 4:30pm**. All participants must be registered for the contest to be eligible to compete. Adult Cosplay Contest registration is available online HERE. There will be no day of, in-person registration for the Adult Cosplay Contest.

Pre-judging will be happening throughout the day by appointment on Saturday, giving each contestant more time to spend on the show floor. Upon registration, an appointment will be created and can be adjusted upon request. The rules have been updated this year, so make sure to check out the webpage here with more details about this event.

Along with the Adult Cosplay Contest on Saturday, we are pleased to announce the return of the popular Adult Cosplay Showcase! The Showcase provides an opportunity for all cosplayers, regardless of whether or not they made their own outfit, to have a moment up on the Baltimore Comic-Con stage to strut their stuff for the audience and for the cameras. To register for this event, please visit the website. The event will start shortly before the Cosplay Contest.

The Children’s Cosplay Showcase will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, shortly before the Contest in the ballroom on the 4th floor. Alongside the Children’s Cosplay Contest will be the Children’s Cosplay Showcase, where anyone under the age of 18 can walk the stage and be celebrated for their work and their part in the cosplay community! Make sure to register online HERE to ensure your spot in the showcase! This event will start at 3pm**.

The Children’s Cosplay Contest will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 3:30pm** in the ballroom on the 4th floor. The Children’s Cosplay Contest registration is available online HERE. Kids 17 years and younger can register online OR day of for the event. In person registration will close at noon on Sunday, September 27, 2026. There will, however, be a limited number of slots and if you are able to have a build book available, please bring one.

Insight Studios Group will celebrate a milestone this September when the studio returns for its 25th consecutive appearance at Baltimore Comic-Con, taking place September 25–27, 2026, at the Baltimore Convention Center. For a quarter-century, Baltimore Comic-Con has been one of Insight Studios Group’s favorite annual traditions, bringing together longtime readers, collectors, fellow professionals, and new generations of comics fans.

Leading the Insight Studios Group lineup are longtime creative partners Mark Wheatley and Marc Hempel, whose collaborations include the acclaimed Breathtaker, Blood of the Innocent, Mars, Tarzan, Jonny Quest, and Be An Interplanetary Spy. Their fully restored edition of Breathtaker, published by Titan, has introduced the landmark graphic novel to a new generation of readers.

Joining them this year are acclaimed writer and television pioneer David Gerrold (Star Trek, “The Trouble with Tribbles,” Land of the Lost), ComicMix publisher Glenn Hauman, and writer Martha Thomases, creator of Marvel’s Dakota North.

Wheatley will also debut and sign several recent publishing projects, including a new edition of Frankenstein Mobster, and The Caspak Trilogy, featuring nearly thirty new illustrations and a cover by Wheatley. Fans will also find a wide selection of signed books, prints, and original artwork available throughout the convention.

Over a career spanning four decades, Mark Wheatley has created or co-created such acclaimed works as Frankenstein Mobster, Mars, Blood of the Innocent, Lone Justice, Hammer of the Gods, EZ Street, and Return of the Human. His illustration work has appeared in books by Philip José Farmer, Robert E. Howard, Edgar Rice Burroughs, G. D. Falksen, and many others. His artwork has been featured by CBS Television, exhibited at the Norman Rockwell Museum, and is currently touring as part of the exhibition Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration from the Norman Rockwell Museum. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Eisner Award, Inkpot Award, Golden Lion Award, Robert E. Howard Foundation Award, Pulp Factory Award, and induction into the Overstreet Hall of Fame.

Baltimore resident Marc Hempel continues to be celebrated for his distinctive storytelling and unmistakable artistic style. Best known for Gregory, The Sandman: The Kindly Ones, Tug & Buster, Naked Brain, and work for MAD, Heavy Metal, Disney Adventures, Marvel Fanfare, Epic Illustrated, Lucifer, The Dreaming, and many others, Hempel remains one of comics’ most innovative creators.

Writer Martha Thomases created Dakota North with artist Tony Salmons for Marvel Comics and has enjoyed an accomplished career in journalism and comics. Her work has appeared in The Village Voice, New York Daily News, High Times, Spy, and National Lampoon. Her graphic novel Second-Hand Rose, illustrated by Richard Case, is forthcoming from A Wave Blue World.

ComicMix publisher Glenn Hauman continues to write, edit, design, color, publish, and generally keep far too many creative projects moving simultaneously. His anthology They Keep Killing Glenn has become a fan favorite while demonstrating his trademark wit and self-deprecating humor.

Science fiction legend David Gerrold remains one of the most influential voices in speculative fiction. Best known for writing the classic Star Trek episode “The Trouble with Tribbles,” creating the Sleestak for Land of the Lost, and authoring the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning The Martian Child, Gerrold continues to delight audiences with his stories and convention appearances.

Brett Bean, Che Grayson, Creees Lee, Pornsak Pichetshote, Ethan Sacks, and Frank Tieri are coming to Baltimore Comic Con 2026

Baltimore Comic-Con has announced that Brett Bean, Che Grayson, Creees Lee, Pornsak Pichetshote, Ethan Sacks, and Frank Tieri as comics guests of the 2026 event. You can get your tickets online now!

Brett Bean is the creator of D’Orc, the hilarious high-fantasy romp from Image Comics and Dungeon Crawler Carl: The Crocodile Fall 2026 with Vault Comics. His other works include Draw! Brett Bean Breaks Down the Art of Drawing, the graphic novel series Zoo Patrol Squad, and the Muk ‘n’ Honey‘ book series. A fan-favorite artist on I Hate Fairyland and Marvel’s Rocket and Groot, Brett continues to make puppet designs for Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, variant covers, card art for Marvel Snap, animated films, TV, and more. He lives in Los Angeles with a bunch of redheads.

Che Grayson is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, writer, and TED speaker. Che is a 2016 TED resident, a 2017 IFP Marcie Bloom Film Fellow with Sony Picture Classics, and a 2018 Directing Fellow with Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative. Che has written for television for Paramount, Apple TV, and Netflix, including Monster High and Hilda. Also a comic book writer, they are best known for their psychological horror Good Deeds, action-horror series Exquisite Corpses, and the upcoming Absolute Catwoman series at DC. As a graduate of New York University’s MFA film program, they have written, directed, and produced while studying under the mentorship of Spike Lee and Kasi Lemmons. Their award-winning film Magic Hour, starring Indya Moore, premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. Che currently works as a head writer at DreamWorks Animation.

His name is Hyunsung Lee, but most people call him Creees. He recently graduated from SVA, School of Visual Arts in New York City, and he learned the ancient ways in becoming a comic artist. People often ask him how long he’s been drawing and my answer is, “Basically my whole life.” He still has a drawing from when he was 3 or 4 years old hung up on his wall. His childhood was all about drawing Dragonball Z characters and Batman…it was a pretty good childhood. Even though he stopped drawing Dragonball Z characters, he still continues to draw superheroes. Drawing is something he does because it literally keeps him alive; he can’t imagine life if he wasn’t able to draw. Now, he’s striving to become an awesome DC or Marvel comic artist…you know, like Jim Lee? Jim Lee is one of his greatest inspirations, as well as the incredible Kenneth Rocafort. Other inspirations of his are Klaus Janson, who was also his mentor at SVA, Matteo Scalera, and Sean Murphy. Their works are amazing and he hopes that later he will have the same impact on others as they did for him.

Pornsak Pichetshote is a Thai-American award-winning writer of comics and TV. He began his career as a rising star editor at DC’s Vertigo imprint before overseeing DC Entertainment’s TV department, helping spearhead what would become the CW’s Arrowverse of shows. As a comics writer, his work includes Absolute Green Arrow, Infidel, which was selected for NPR’s 100 Favorite Horror Stories of All Time, The Good Asian, which won both Eisner and Harvey Awards, Sandman Universe: Dead Boy Detectives for DC Comics, and Man’s Best for BOOM! Studios.

Ethan Sacks is best known as the writer of Marvel’s Old Man Hawkeye, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. Mike DeCarlo has been a comic and animation/cartoon artist since 1980, including work for The Simpsons, Archie, Marvel, DC, BOOM! Studios, Disney, and Warner Brothers.

Anthony Marques, a graduate of the prestigious Joe Kubert School, launched his career as an editor at DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment before transitioning to a full-time freelance artist. Driven by a passion for the medium, he has brought fresh and innovative perspectives to his work on iconic characters for publishers like DC Comics and Dynamite, including Batman, Superman, the Green Hornet, and the Ghostbusters. Beyond his contributions to these major publishers, Anthony also taught at the Joe Kubert School, eventually becoming its president and owner. In this role, he collaborates with other educators to mentor and cultivate the next generation of comic book creators.

Joshua Middleton began his career as a comic book artist in 1999, providing illustrations for every major publisher and eventually branching out into animation and film design. In 2005, he began his long-running relationship with DC Comics, illustrating Superman/Shazam: First Thunder before rising to prominence as a premier cover artist on a wide variety of DC titles, including his recent notable runs on Aquaman and Batgirl. His exceptional skill and uncommon range as an artist have earned him his place amongst the very best cover artists in the industry.

One of the original members of Gaijin Studios, Karl Story‘s inks have graced the pages of titles such as DC’s Action Comics, Nightwing, Batman ’66, Legends of the Dark Knight, Ocean, and The American Way, as well as Marvel’s X-Men and Dark Horse’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 among many, many others. You can find his recent work in DC’s The Multiversity: The Society of Super-Heroes: Conquerors of the Counter-World and Dark Horse’s Serenity: Leaves of the Wind.

Peter J. Tomasi, recipient of the 2018 Inkpot Award for achievement in comics, is a New York Times bestselling author known for his work on Batman and Robin, Superman, Super Sons, Batman: Detective Comics, Green Lantern Corps, and Superman/Wonder Woman, as well as Sinister Sons, Batman: Arkham Knight, Brightest Day, Emerald Warriors, Nightwing, Black Adam, and many more. During his staff career at DC Comics, Tomasi served as a group editor and ushered in new eras for Batman, Green Lantern, and the JSA, along with a host of special projects like Kingdom Come. He is also the author of the creator-owned titles House of Penance with artist Ian Bertram, Light Brigade with artist Peter Snejbjerg, The Mighty with Keith Champagne and Chris Samnee, Blood Tree with artist Maxim Simic, and the critically acclaimed epic graphic novel The Bridge: How the Roeblings Connected Brooklyn to New York, illustrated by Sara DuVall and published by Abrams ComicArts. Tomasi also wrote the Marvel Comics Sirius XM Podcast series Wastelanders – Wolverine and the best-selling Warner Bros. Animation epics Death of Superman and Green Lantern Emerald Knights. And most recently, Tomasi joined forces with a number of the comic world’s top writers and artists to form the creator-owned company Ghost Machine, where his first two titles, The Rocketfellers with Francis Manapul and Hornsby & Halo with Peter Snejbjerg will be published through Image Comics.

Keith Williams, comic book artist-inker, and recipient of the 2025 Joe Sinnott Inkwell Hall of Fame Award, enrolled in the School of Visual Arts in New York City from 1976 to 1980. He majored in Media Arts and studied under Will Eisner, the creator of The Spirit comic strip. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art. With the help of Marvel comic book artist and mentor Don Perlin, Keith started working for Marvel Comics in 1982 as a background inker. He worked for inkers including Joe Sinnott, Mike Esposito, and John Byrne. At Marvel, he became the first John Romita Raider, an art correction group. Keith later became an assistant editor under Jim Owlsley (Christopher Priest) on the Spider-Man group of books. The two became the first all-black editorial team in Marvel’s history. He later became John Byrne’s background artist on Alpha Flight, The Hulk, Superman, and Action Comics.

Keith began inking regularly with the Web of Spider-Man for four years. In between that time and after, he worked on many other books at Marvel, some of which were The Silver Surfer, She-Hulk with John Byrne, Warlock with Tom Raney, Quasar with Greg Capullo, Star Trek, and the X-Men. At Dark Horse Comics, he worked on The Mask and Walter with artist Doug Manke and Star Wars Droids. At DC Comics, he worked on Superman, and the Lobo/Mask graphic novel with Doug Manke. For Valiant, he worked on Quantum and Woody and the covers of X-O Manowar. At Moonstone Comics, he did The Kolchak Night Stalker Chronicles, Buckaroo Banzai, and Domino Lady. For ten years, he worked on The Phantom as inker and letterer for King Features Syndicate. At Avatar Press, he inked Lady Death and Crossed covers, and the cover and interiors of the comic book Uber. He has also inked Avatar Press’ published graphic novel, Max Brook’s Harlem Hellfighters. Keith has inked over Ron Frenz’s pencils for Marvel’s Thor the Worthy one-shot book. He pencilled, inked, and colored Boglin trading cards, and was an artist for Power Comic Inc. He has received the 2023 Above and Beyond Inkwell Award for prolific achievement in the annual Joe Sinnott Inking Challenge events. Keith has been doing cover artwork for Green Archer Comics on their Johnny Dollar and Buck Rodger series, and has also been working on a Kickstarter — Keith Williams Sketchbook, which is out now. Keith served as the cover artist for Felandra, created by Blake Zawadzki. Elva, a character Keith created back in his college days, made her appearance in issue number 8 of A Kid and a Comic, which is an adaptation of the old Sunday comic strips. Keith also served as cover artist for Resolute Bliss Publishing. Keith has recently been inducted into the inaugural Phillipsburg Hall of Fame at Phillipsburg Comic-Con.

Dean Haspiel, Vito Delsante, Steve Walker, and Jeffrey Burandt are coming to Baltimore Comic Con 2026

The Baltimore Comic-Con returns this September 25-27 to the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center. Joining the impressive list of guests are Dean Haspiel, a seasoned alternative cartoonist/playwright who started self-publishing a series of “deep cut” comix, most recently with Antimatter #1, will join Stray co-creator Vito Delsante, his Vito x Dino podcast brother and occasional collaborator, who will be debuting Pay the Devil with artist/comix teacher Steve Walker; plus, rock god/comix writer Jef UK aka Jeffrey Burandt will keep the squad “too cool for school” with his grindhouse comic, Blood + Brains, and his semi-Cimmerian satire, Gonad the Ballbarian. Emmy and Ringo Award-winning cartoonist Dean Haspiel has created for Marvel, DC/Vertigo, Archie, Image, and Webtoon, including collaborations with Harvey Pekar and Jonathan Ames. In 2023, Dino launched a series of crowdfunded “Deep Cuts” from his pantheon of creator-owned characters, featuring COVID Cop, Billy Dogma + Jane Legit, The Red Hook, and Chest Face. In addition, Haspiel is an accomplished playwright and Yaddo fellow. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Vito Delsante is a comic book writer, letterer, and editor. He is best known for his creator-owned superhero story, Stray, with co-creator, Sean Izaakse (Challengers of the Unknown) and is the editor-in-chief of Blind Squirrel Comics. This year, he debuts a new Stray one-shot called The Beast Within, with art by David Jaxon, and Pay the Devil, with co-creator and tablemate Steve Walker. He currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife, Michelle, and his kids, Sadie and James.

Steve Walker is an independent comic artist, educator, illustrator, and editor. 

His current projects are the self-published series The Blackforge Chronicles, and the upcoming Pay The Devil, with writer Vito Delsante.

His previous works include graphic novels for Random House Books, Tor Books, as well as work for Action Lab Entertainment.

Since 2008, Steve has taught comics and sequential arts at the Art Students League of New York, where he edits an annual anthology of student work, as well as the anthology No Day Without A Line, and This Quarantine Life: A COVID-19 Comics Anthology. He currently lives in Queens, New York.

Jeffrey Burandt is a writer and performer living in Brooklyn, New York. He has written comics for DC Entertainment, Devil’s Due Comics, Heavy Metal Magazine, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, and Source Point Press. This year, at Baltimore Comic-Con 2026, Jeffrey is debuting an original graphic novel, titled Gonad the Ballbarian, with artist Blake Sims and publisher Source Point Press, not available in stores until December 2026!

Joel Adams is the eldest son of famed comic book legend Neal Adams. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York, in 1988, and moved to Los Angeles to work at Neal’s west coast offices of Continuity Studios. While at Continuity, he dabbled in comic books, helping out on Continuity titles such as Ms. Mystic and Bucky O’Hare. Outside of Continuity, he did covers for Alpha Productions’ Blood Thirst and penciled for Penthouse Comix’ Young Captain Adventure.

In 1996, Joel went to Marvel Animation to do all the character design for The Hulk animated series. From there, he went to FOX/Film Roman to design the Emmy Award-winning King of the Hill, then to FOX Family to design Nascar Racers.

While working for animation companies, Joel was picked up for all of the licensing art for these shows and others by the licensing companies handling them. Joel’s art has appeared on products from The Hulk, Nascar Racers, King of the Hill, Captain Scarlet, The Mask (animation), Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, Power Rangers: Light Speed Rescue, Power Rangers: Wild Force, Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire, and more. 

Tula Lotay is the pen name of illustrator Lisa Wood. Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, Tula specializes in comics, film, and editorial illustration, as well as being the founder and former director of the world-renowned Thought Bubble Festival.

Tula is best known for her interior work on Bodies, All-Star Batman, Supreme Blue Rose, and Scarlet Witch. She is also a prolific and accomplished cover artist, working regularly for Marvel, DC, Image, and BOOM! Studios, along with being a regular contributor on the fronts of such series as Catwoman, The Walking Dead, Faithless, and Bloodshot Reborn. Outside of comics, Lotay is a mainstay in the alternative film poster scene, contributing art to officially licensed projects such as Marvel Studio’s Black Widow, The Handmaiden, Personal Shopper, The Last of Us, and many others.

In 2015 she was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book for The Wicked and The Divine #13. This was followed up with more accolades when Tula was awarded the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award by the San Diego Comic-Con Eisner committee for her charitable and fundraising work in 2019. Her biggest accomplishment yet came once again at SDCC, when, in 2023, she won an Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic for Barnstormers with Scott Snyder and Comixology. She followed that up in 2024 with an Eisner Award for Best New Series for SOMNA.

SOMNA was her first completed book as a DSTLRY founding member and was both written and drawn collaboratively with creator Becky Cloonan. Her next project is Groupies, back at Comixology with writer Helen Mullane.

Joe Pruett is an Eisner Award-winning comic book editor and writer. Joe has also written for virtually every major comic publisher, including Image, Vertigo, IDW, DC, AfterShock, Caliber, and Marvel, where he wrote for the X-Men family of titles. He also served as Publisher at Desperado Publishing and AfterShock Comics, as well as Editor-in-Chief of Ninth Circle Comics. His most recent writing credits include Viking Moon, Kilroy Is Here, and Voices In My Head at Image, Savage Sword of Conan, and BOOM! Studios’ Hello, Darkness. His French graphic album, The Territory with artist Philippe Xavier, will be published by Le Lombard this fall. Recently, he has started Desperado Books, where has edited, designed, and published retrospective art books, The Book of Jusko and The Book of Deodato, and relaunched his classic anthology Negative Burn.

Well known in American comics fandom since the 1960s for his vast comic book collection and comics fanzine activities, Don Rosa became internationally famous starting in 1987 when he began writing and drawing Uncle $crooge and Donald Duck comics for various licensed publishers in Europe. Just as they once were in America, Donald Duck comics (based on Carl Barks’ work) continue to be the best selling comics in Europe and South America where the weekly (!) Donald Duck comics have been read by hundreds of millions of fans for over 70 years. This makes Rosa one of the world’s best known cartoonists, but still very easy to visit with at American shows where he can relax in “relative obscurity”. American comics fans are mostly familiar with his most famous work, the Eisner Award winning Life and Times of $crooge McDuck series. But American fans can also now see his entire Duck comics career reprinted chronologically in the new Don Rosa Library from Fantagraphics. Rosa has quit producing new Duck comics due to several reasons, but he stays very busy with signing tours to Europe, visits to American comic cons, and his many hobbies, including growing exotic chiles, of which he is even now probably giving away bags in the convention hall.

Megaton Man #1 detonated on the scene in December 1984, and forty years later, Don Simpson is still best known as the creator of that satirical superhero series published by Kitchen Sink Press and Image Comics. Don is also creator of the science fiction saga Border Worlds (collected by Dover in 2017), Bizarre Heroes, a universe of characters surrounding the cast of Megaton Man and self-published under Don’s Fiasco Comics imprint, and Marvel’s one-shot CRAZY! reboot (2019). A veteran of the 80s-90s indy movement, Don worked for every major comic book imprint in the late twentieth century, including Mirage Studios (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Image Comics (Splitting Image, The Savage Dragon vs. Megaton Man, The normalman-Megaton Man Special, 1963), Fantagraphics (King Kong), and DC (Wasteland, Flash Annual, Secret Origins, Action Comics Weekly). More recently, Don has been authoring his weekly prose novel, The Ms. Megaton Man Maxi-Series, and teamed up with William Messner Loebs, Jason Moore, and Tom Orzechowski on Victory Folks—The Golden Age Public Domain Supergroup. 2025 saw the release of The Complete Megaton Man Universe Volume I: The 1980s (Fantagraphics Underground), including all the Kitchen Sink Press Megaton Man comics, and Megaton Man: Multimensions (Cosmic Lion Productions), an anthology of indy creators’ interpretations of and IP crossovers with Don’s creations.

Ron Wilson started drawing at Marvel Comics in 1974, working under the tutelage of John Romita Sr. During his tenure, he has drawn 101 Marvel covers, worked on 8-page mystery stories, and illustrated for Captain Britain, Power Man, The Incredible Hulk Magazine, Marvel Two-in-One, The Thing, and He-Man: Masters of the Universe. He is currently working on the Super Boxers 2 graphic novel, a prequel to the first edition of Super Boxers.

Steve Englehart‘s take on The Batman and the Joker established superheroes for grown-ups, first in comics, then in the film adaptation, the animated series, and the later movies. His take on Captain America rescued Cap and then rescued the MCU from fan service. His Wanda and Vision established Disney+. His Guy Gardner helped anchor James Gunn’s DCU. His Luke Cage and Hellcat helped solidify Netflix. His Night Man ran on regular TV. Erik Larsen has been in the comics business for over 40 years. He’s worked on every book you’ve ever loved, including Savage Dragon, Spider-Man, Thor, The Punisher, Doom Patrol, Aquaman, Wolverine, Nova, Spider-Man Noir, Spawn, Captain America: The End, Fantastic Four: The World’s Greatest Comics Magazine, SuperPatriot, Freak Force, and Ant. He is the creator/writer/artist of Savage Dragon and was one of the seven founders of Image Comics.

Illustrator and writer Andy Price has been the lead artist for the record breaking My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic books from IDW Publishing. Andy is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School, and works in most mediums. His art runs from cute cartoon animals to superheroes to horrific terrors. Past work includes IDW Publishing, DC Comics, Marvel, Image, Storm King Productions, LEGO, and Archie Comics. Andy is also the illustrator for The Unofficial Horror Movie Coloring Book and the Cryptid Creatures Coloring Book, both available from Adams Media. He lives in the USA, where he watches horror films, scoops cat boxes, and celebrates James T. Kirk’s birthday.

James Robinson was born in Great Britain but has lived in the U.S. since 1989 where he began working in comics initially for DC and Dark Horse Comics. Among his more known and regarded works are Grendel Tales: Four Devils, One Hell, sundry Legends of the Dark Knight arcs, Superman, Justice League of America, Batman, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman, and Earth 2. He is perhaps most well-known for his award-winning runs on both Starman and Leave It To Chance.

After a long working relationship with DC Comics, James made the switch to Marvel Comics where he wrote All-New Invaders, the Fantastic Four, Nick Fury, and the Scarlet Witch among other titles. He also wrote Airboy for Image Comics, and Grand Passion and Felix Leiter for Dynamite Comics.

James work in films includes scripts for every major studio, including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for 20th Century Fox. He also wrote and directed the black comedy Comic Book Villains for Goldcrest. In TV, James was a writer/co-exec producer on Stargirl for the WB for three seasons.

After that, he returned to comics with several creator-owned series for Dark Horse including ‘Patra, Welcome To The Maynard, Los Monstruos, and The Adventures of Lumen N. He is also writing an on-going Kickstarter comic, Rogues’ Kingdom.

His first novel, The Singular Pair will be published this year.

James resides in Las Vegas with his wife Alyson and their dogs.

The multi-talented Jim Starlin has worked on both writing and creating art for some of the most noteworthy creations since his entry into the field of comics in the 1970s. The mind behind the Marvel character Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu, he is also responsible for a number of noteworthy cosmic characters in the Marvel Universe, including Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, and the villainous Thanos, all of whom are featured in the major motion picture, Guardians of the Galaxy. He developed noteworthy runs on Marvel’s Captain Marvel, Warlock, and Silver Surfer, Marvel mini-series Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity War, and Infinity Crusade, and DC Comics’ Batman, The Weird, and Cosmic Odyssey. His Death of Captain Marvel was the first Marvel graphic novel to be published. More recently, he has provided writing and art for DC’s Stormwatch and writing on Green Lantern: Mongul, and he returned to his classic villain with Marvel’s Thanos: The Infinity Revelation.

Jason Aaron is an award-winning writer who has created some of the most celebrated comic books of the last twenty years. He currently lives in South Florida where he’s producing all-new RLP stories.

John Stanisci is a 30-year comic veteran whose work has appeared in DC, Marvel, IDW, and now Heavy Metal Magazine. Other credits include Batman #150, which was a top seller for the month of July. John had a story in Superman: Red and Blue which received an Eisner Nomination for Best Anthology. Joe Staton has been drawing comics since he started working for Charlton Comics in 1971, where he co-created E-Man and Michael Mauser. Though the bulk of his work has been for DC Comics, at last count, Staton has worked for at least 30 publishers and 100 different editors. Among his many comics credits are Action Comics, Green Lantern, The Legion, Classics Illustrated, and various incarnations of Batman. During his time on Green Lantern, he co-created several GLs, including Kilowog, Arisia, and Salakk. He also designed GL Guy Gardner’s “bad boy” look. More recently, with his writer-wife Hilarie, he produces medical comics such as Pete Learns All About Crohn’s and Colitis and Amy Goes Gluten-Free. In 1998, he received the Eisner Award for his work on World’s Finest: The Superman-Batman Adventures. He penciled over 100 issues of the Cartoon Network’s Scooby Doo comic. He illustrated a graphic novel adaptation of Ayn Rand’s Anthem for NAL and a graphic biography of Ronald Reagan. Starting in 2011, working with writer Mike Curtis, Joe was the regular artist for the long-running Dick Tracy newspaper strip (available online at www.gocomics.com/dicktracy). Dick Tracy received Harvey Awards in 2013, 2014, and 2015 for Best Syndicated Strip or Feature.

Baltimore Comic-Con’s Yearbook Returns in 2026 with Savage Dragon!

Come to the Baltimore Comic-Con on September 25-27, 2026 at the Baltimore Convention Center in the Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Tickets to the show are now available.

An annual tradition, the Baltimore Comic-Con Yearbook, returns in 2026 for the fourteenth year, celebrating creators and friends of the show. This year’s book of art features interpretations of characters from 2026 guest Erik Larsen‘s Savage Dragon!

Beautifully designed by returning guest and Cupid’s Arrows, Warning Label, Time and Vine, and Love and Capes creator Thom Zahler, the book comes in a standard and, for VIP ticketholders, a limited VIP cover edition.

Savage Dragon, published by Image Comics, features the adventures of “Dragon” and, more recently, the exploits of his son, Malcolm Eugene Dragon.

Erik created the Dragon as a kid, but the character finally saw his first public appearance in the self-published Graphic Fantasy #1 in June 1982. In 1986, the slightly revised character returned as “Savage Dragon” in the pages of Gary Carlson’s Megaton #3.

When Erik left Marvel Comics in 1992 to become co-founder of Image Comics, he published a three-issue mini-series featuring his redesigned childhood creation, the Dragon. Based on the huge success, Larsen released the ongoing title in 1993 and has worked on it as writer, penciller, and inker ever since (sometimes also coloring and lettering!). The book is largely considered the longest running full-color comic book that has featured a single writer and artist.

The Baltimore Comic-Con scavenger hunt, which has become a must-do activity for many of our fans, will be back in 2026! When you buy the book, you’ll get a list of Yearbook contributors and their table numbers. Participants succeeding in acquiring the appropriate quota of autographs from contributors can then get their choice of bonus prints — and it’s a great way to meet our guests!

Art created for the 2026 Baltimore Comic-Con Yearbook Featuring Savage Dragon will be auctioned off at the Baltimore Comic-Con Art Auction on Saturday, September 26th. Fans and art collectors alike won’t want to miss this opportunity to win these one-of-a-kind items, only available at the Baltimore Comic-Con!

The book will be sold in the Exclusives Booth in the lobby. The book will be available at the Baltimore Comic-Con for $29.99. The art auction featuring original art from the book will be held during the show weekend of September 25-27, 2026.
