Archie Comics to Launch Native Language Digital Comics Apps Through iVerse International

Archie Comics, the leading mass-market comic book publisher in the world and home to such notable pop culture creations as Archie, Jughead, Betty & Veronica, Josie & The Pussycats, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, announced today that it will be expanding its global presence by launching “Archie Comics” digital publishing applications for China, Japan, India and more in the fall of 2012 through an expanded partnership with iVerse Media’s new iVerse International program.

“Archie Comics has been at the forefront of digital publishing in North America for some time,” said Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. “We’re very excited to bring Archie and pals into the broader international digital market through our close partnership with iVerse Media.”

“Archie began experimenting with native language releases in Spanish last year,” said iVerse CEO Michael Murphey. “We’ve received great feedback from that, and we look forward to working with them to bring these iconic characters to the world in a brand new way.”

Applications will launch in the fall of 2012 with languages and titles to be announced in the coming weeks.
