Dark Souls III Is Everything You Need It To Be

darksouls-3So with Gamescom 2015 ending last week, I thought I’d cover on one of the games that I’m really looking forward to- Dark Souls III. I was introduced to this series by a friend of mine and have been in love with it ever since. With a unique play style that revolves around death and overcoming ultimate challenges, the Dark Souls series combines action with RPG in a perfect fusion of chaos and glory, as you struggle to survive in a world that’s doing its best to kill you. While the game is full of rage-worthy moments (I’m a pretty patient person, but even I have been tempted to throw my controller at the TV at times…) the moments when you finally overcome an obstacle heavily outweigh the pain and misery you’ve endured up until that point. You know, for those of you who haven given up already.

With the unveiling of its first trailer at this year’s E3, I’ll admit I was drooling at little bit. With how amazing the series is, this title, along with a few others, definitely made onto my list of games to look forward to. It just dampens my spirit to know that this game won’t release until 2016. With Gamescom 2015 premiering another trailer for fans to enjoy, fans actually got more gameplay footage with less cinematic footage, and it was fantastic. I care much more about gameplay than pretty graphics, and From Software really knows how to deliver a game that fans can play for quite some time. One of the big things that I love about this series is the option to play whatever style you want, whether you want to be a caster, hit your enemies with the biggest weapon you can find, and anything in between, the options are pretty endless.

While I was a little disappointed with Dark Souls 2, mainly because I found it more tedious than challenging, I’m hoping From Software goes back to Dark Souls’ roots and draws more from the first game than the second. One of the big things the developer teased, which I’m personally looking forward to, is the fact that this game will be enormous. Apparently any area you can see is traversable, which is amazing. With a game that has an abundance of stunning scenery in the distance, one of my biggest desires is to explore the world of the game. Unfortunately with previous installments, most of the scenery just serves as a really pretty background.

Below is the trailer that was released at this year’s Gamescom

What do you guys think of the trailer? Excited for the game as much as I am? Feel free to leave a comment and thanks for reading!
