90s superheroes are back at Image this May with Joe Casey and Paul Fry’s Blood Squad Seven

Writer Joe Casey and artist Paul Fry team up for a boundary pushing new superhero series in Blood Squad Seven. Spinning out of the recent Dutch miniseries, this upcoming comic book will explore ’90s superteam dynamics through a contemporary lens and launches in May 22nd from Image Comics.

Thirty years ago, Blood Squad Seven was America’s most popular superhero team. Its members were seen on television, on magazine covers, scoring million-dollar endorsement deals…. They were celebrities and they were everywhere.

But that was then… this is now. And so, a new generation of modern-day heroes takes up the mantle—or perhaps, the poisoned chalice—fulfilling a promise made decades ago: to be the heroes that a fractured America needs.

While deconstructions of superhero nostalgia typically center around the classic characters of the Silver Age, Blood Squad Seven will delve deep into ’90s comic book themes with this imagining of what would happen if heroes from that decade returned to action after a 30-year absence.

Variant covers for each issue of Blood Squad Seven will be provided by an army of celebrated artists, including: Chris Weston, Nick Pitarra, Jim Rugg, Chris Cross, Elizabeth Torque, Mike Hawthorne, Cory Walker, Ryan Quackenbush, Mirko Colak, Chris Sprouse, Dustin Nguyen, and many more.

Chap Yaep’s Dutch returns in February 2024 from Joe Casey and Simon Gane

Now that Dutch #0 is in stores, writer Joe Casey will next join forces with artist Simon Gane to bring fans even more Dutch thrills in an all-new upcoming adventure from Image Comics starting on February 14, 2024.

From the prologue will spring forth the new Dutch, a three-issue miniseries, which will usher in the return of Chap Yaep’s iconic, golden era Image Comics character of the same name. This new Dutch launch will also feature an exclusive variant cover by legendary Dutch creator Yaep himself.

In Dutch, the classic ’90s super-soldier returns. An enemy from the past has forced Dutch back into the belly of the beast—but will his former teammates welcome him back? Or will a cybernetic kill team get to him first?

Dutch is back this November with Dutch #0, laying the groundwork for a new miniseries

From the combustible creative team of Joe Casey and Nathan Fox—Chap Yaep’s iconic, golden era Image Comics character—Dutch—is back in action with the upcoming, Dutch #0. This new prologue chapter—which first appeared in the pages of the Image! Anthology—will bring fans a splash of ’90s nostalgia and new readers an entry into Dutch greatness this November.

It’s been thirty years since he served as the ultimate superhero soldier. Now his new life is shattered by an old enemy from the past. Will Dutch answer this newest call to action? And coming next year—the mayhem continues in the all-new, three-issue miniseries beginning with Dutch #1.
