Battling demons from her past while fighting for her life, Colonial Marine Private First Class Zula Hendricks, in the company of Weyland-Yutani synthetics, is forced to question her strength and loyalty when the discovery of an insidious alien species on a derelict hauler sends her on a dangerous journey across the stars.

In Aliens: Defiance #1, the Xenomorphs continue to haunt humanity. Of course for some crazy reason, some people want to use the Xenomorph as a weapon. To what ends fails to be seen, as a captain who was found on abandoned ship is revived.

The art by Tristan Jones is mix of light, and dark depending on the settings. While the after attack seems to dominate the light side of the art style, with illuminated  environments.  On contrast to this the abandoned ship is much darker. That aids in in creating an atmosphere of fear, as the reason the ship was abandoned is revealed.
