Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!
Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for
Absolute Martian Manhunter #7 (DC Comics) – One of the best series of the year returns. The first arc felt more superhero Vertigo than Absolute but we’re excited for more trippy visuals.
Absolute Superman #14 (DC Comics) – Superman vs. Ra’s Al Ghul!
Absolute Wonder Woman #15 (DC Comics) – Absolute Wonder Woman meets Absolute Batman!
Event Horizon: Dark Descent #4 (IDW Publishing) – The comic has captured the creepiness of the cult horror film as it reveals more of what went wrong on the Event Horizon.
The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All Vol. 3 (Yen Press) – The series has been quite interesting and surprising as a school girl gets a crush on a “guy” that works at a local music shop. But, the guy isn’t a guy but another female classmate of hers. Where you might think this turns into a queer romance, it’s more about finding your crowd and friends to share interests with.
Masterminds #3 (Dark Horse) – The series has been excellent so far as a programmer follows puzzles, that might put his life in danger, to join a secret society.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus #1 (IDW Publishing) – TMNT Universes collide is this weekly battle royale!
Void Rivals #25 (Skybound) – The Quintesson War starts here!
Voyeur #3 (Ignition Press) – The series has a serious sexiness about it as two individuals team up to steal artwork at a resort.
We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us (Image Comics) – If you missed the individual issues, the collection is here in time for Christmas. The story follows a young girl and robot out for revenge after her father is killed by a super agent. Think James Bond killing some villain and the villain’s kid going for revenge.
Will Of Doom #1 (Marvel) – What the Marvel Universe will look like post Doom’s rule has potential depending on how much writers lean into the questions it raised, but it sounds like the next event, “Armageddon,” has its groundwork laid here.
