Last week we told you about a man who stole comic books to support his drug habit.  This week sees thieves trying to sell about $30,000 worth of comics from the 1940’s and 50’s and then sell them for a quick buck.  The crime took place in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Fifty comic books from the 1940s to 1950s were stolen from Robert Rice.  That’s an average value of $600 a book.  They also stole a coin collection valued at $10,000, an arrowhead  collection valued at $2,500 and some DVDs.

The thieves then contacted two local comic book shops.  Both shop owners contacted the police and provided descriptions of the suspects who tried to sell Rice’s comic books.   Police are following up with potential leads and retrieved some of the stolen comic books.
