Wednesdays (and Tuesdays) are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

A Business Proposal Vol. 2 (Yen Press/IZE Press) – The second volume continues the excellent romcom. Check out our review!

Captain America Finale #1 (Marvel) – The current run and storyline wraps up!

Convoy (Magnetic Press) – It’s 2074, and the Earth is an abused ruin, a landscape of desolation thanks to mankind’s inability to live in moderation. Pockets of makeshift civilization are spread out like islands in a sea of wasted misery, a distance that only the craziest and most desperate madmen dare to traverse.

Creed: The Next Round #3 (BOOM! Studios) – The series has been a solid extension and next step for the Creed franchise.

Darkwing Duck #8 (Dynamite Entertainment) – The series has been a welcome return for the classic animated series and feels like no time has passed.

Immortal Thor #1 (Marvel) – Al Ewing gives Thor the “Immortal” treatment!

Knight Terrors #4 (DC Comics) – The event wraps up!

Mother Nature (Titan Comics) – Jamie Lee Curtis’ graphic novel about a sabotage campaign against an oil giant!

Mother Russia #1 (CEX Publishing) – We read a copy a long time ago and it was a fun mix of war comics and zombie story.

The Naked Tree (Drawn & Quarterly)The Naked Tree paints a stark portrait of a single nation’s fabric slowly torn to shreds by political upheaval.

The Penguin #1 (DC Comics) – The Penguin as a pawn for the United States intelligence community!?

The Schlub #1 (Image Comics) – Failing dentist Roger Dalton blames the world for his problems until he is body-swapped with the world’s greatest superhero. Can Roger save Earth and finally prove to his family he’s not a loser? Or are we all doomed?

Solo Leveling Vol. 7 (Yen Press/IZE Press) – The action is so good as it wraps up one storyline and opens up quite a few more. Check out our review.

Spy Superb (Dark Horse) – Fantastic spy action with amazing art.

Things in the Basement (First Second) – An adorable graphic novel for kids that’s a can’t miss.

Seven Years in Darkness’ first two issues sell out and get new printings

Demand for the breakout series Seven Years in Darkness remains high as issue 2 sells out at the distributor level and returns for a second printing! Created by writer/artist Joseph Schmalke, Seven Years in Darkness tells the story of the Academy of Black Magic and its inaugural class.

Seven Years in Darkness #1, whose first and second printings also sold-out, will return for a third printing in time for new readers to jump on board. 

Seven Years in Darkness #2 second printing is now available for retailers to order exclusively through Lunar Distribution.

Captain America #750 (Marvel) – The latest event wraps up with this anniversary issue exploring the aftermath while celebrating Captain America and setting up what’s to come next!

Hairball #4 (Dark Horse) – The horror series has been unnerving with every issue.

Josif 1957 #2 (CEX Publishing) – Josif, the first gorilla in space, is wreaking absolute havoc in low orbit, and no one knows how to stop him! U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower knows just what to do-he blasts into space himself to handle the matter! How can you not be excited for this based on that description?

Knight Terrors: First Blood #1 (DC Comics) – DC’s summer event kicks off this week with a lot of miniseries and this “main series.” The Free Comic Book Day teaser was intriguing and we want to check out more.

Monstrous (First Second) – A memoir about a South Korean girl adopted by a white couple and her growing up in a rural community with few Asian neighbors.

Parker Girls #8 (Abstract Studios) – The series has been a great mix of action and humor and the Park Girls have now gone to war against billionaire Zackary May!

Peacemaker: Tries Hard #3 (DC Comics/DC Black Label) – The series has been funny and fun so far and we’re expecting more.

Swan Songs #1 (Image Comics) – A new multi-artist project from W. Maxwell Prince comprising of stories about endings. We have an early review you can check out here.

Under the Influence #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – An intriguing series about the cult of influencers and social media. You can watch our early video review.

Untold Tales of I Hate Fairyland #1 (Image Comics) – A five issue anthology with stories taking place in this crazy world of twisted fairy tales.

Weird Work #1 (Image Comics) – It’s noir mixed with bright aliens, a combo that sounds intriguing.

Bone Orchard: Tenement #1 (Image Comics) – The story of seven residents in a building and the dark secrets that bind them together…beginning with a death that feels much more sinister than natural. From Jeff Lemire, Andrea Sorrentino, and Dave Stewart, this is a must get.

Cryptid Kids Vol. 1 Bawk Ness Monster (First Second) – A young girl wants to find “Bessie” before she moves to prove her experience as a little girl was real.

Disney Villains: Scar #3 (Dynamite) – Dynamite’s series of comics focusing on its villains. All have been really good so far adding to the classic tales we know and love.

Incredible Hulk #1 (Marvel) – The Hulk is diving deep into its horror roots with this start of a new volume.

Nightwing #105 (DC Comics) – Another cool visually experimental comic where it’s told from Dick’s perspective.

Scarlet Witch Annual #1 (Marvel) – The “Contest of Chaos” kicks off here with this prelude that has Agatha Harkness learning that the Scarlet Witch absorbed Chthon.

Tomb Raider King Vol. 3 (IZE Press) – Jooheon is back to doing what he does best-finding Relics…or stealing them! But as his collection grows, so does the list of enemies.

Ultimate Invasion #1 (Marvel) – The Ultimate Universe is back! Sort of.

Wild’s End #1 (BOOM! Studios) – It’s a spin on the War of the Worlds type story where a crew at sea returns home to find their seaside home now occupied by alien invaders.

Wonder Woman #800 (DC Comics) – The current story arc wraps up as a new one begins with the new creative team!
