SDCC 2012 – Arcana Teams With Roddenberry at SDCC

Arcana Comics has announced a new partnership with Roddenberry Entertainment, launching with new books in the Days Missing series as well as a new book, Worth. Days Missing was previously published by Archaia.

The imprint will debut at SDCC 2012 with an exclusive preview book, available at Arcana Comics booth #2415 AND Roddenberry booth #2543 Exclusively. It’s FREE and limited to 5000 copies, so don’t miss your chance to pick up a copy.

Created by Roddenberry executive, Trevor Roth, Days Missing is “your opportunity to experience each accounting of the various 24-hour periods that, from the beginning of time, have been erased from human memory, but hidden safely away in the annals of The Steward’s library. Ironically, each story proves integral to humanity’s progression and essential to the evolutionary changes of our species. Each accounting will allow you to understand more of our own history and often explain the extraordinary changes between one day and the next.”

Worth is the “heartfelt story of Grant Worth, Motor City’s most iconic hero. During the 1960’s, Worth’s ability to control machines made him a legendary figure in Detroit. But, when Worth’s powers become obsolete because of society’s own progress, he is forced to find out what happens when a superhero can no longer be super.”

Arcana Launches Digital Exclusives and Firsts with comiXology

Arcana Comics has announced a new line of comics, which will appear as comiXology exclusives and digital firsts.  Starting yesterday, Arcana will be releasing books weekly through comiXology featuring new books, full trades and single issues.  This week, sees the release of The Evil Tree , Pixies , The Inventor and .  All of these are comiXology exclusives and are not released anywhere else until the full graphic novels release months from now.

The Evil Tree #1

In a colonial village outside of NYC, Misha and her fiance, Daren, seek an escape from the fast pace of the city. As they settle in, Misha becomes withdrawn, suffering from bad dreams and depression. When Daren brings his friends to the house to “shake out the cobwebs,” little does he know he is setting into motion events started hundreds of years ago with the original occupants of the house, the Willam Family. Not only did the ill-fated Willam family die in the house one cold winter, but the house has developed a history of female occupants committing suicide. The friends must solve the mystery of the house before the Willam Family ghosts pick them off one by one.

Pixies #1

Joe Beck is an auto mechanic with the worst luck in the world. Joe’s been a walking disaster plagued with comedic situations where simply nothing goes right. Since the age of sixteen, Joe’s never won a bet, has been stung more times than George W. has with late night comics and his allergies have introduced him to every hospital employee within a sixty-mile radius. In Annie Hall, Woody Allen divides everyone into the Horrible and the Miserable. Joe unfortunately falls into both categories. He must now defeat the Pixies Curse in order to get back the girl of his dreams.

The Inventor #1 and The Inventor #2

During a time when inventors were known as wizards and corporations considered their kingdoms, emerged an extraordinary league of gentlemen who shaped the modern world with their minds, money, and machines. At the eye of the storm stood Nikola TESLA, a mystic inventor whose genius bordered on insanity as he blurred the lines between magic and science.

Arcana FCBD Events

VANCOUVER (April 10, 2012) – Happy April! We’re in the middle of planning a country full of Free Comic Book Day events and we need your help!

We have events lined up through about one third of the United States and we are looking to have at least one event in every state!

If you frequent an awesome comic book shop that is having a FCBD event, please let us know when and where? We will reach out to the stores and see how we can help! Arcana has creators throughout the United States and would love to get some of our local creators there to meet fans and show off their books!

The incentive? We’re sending stores which sponsor Arcana Creators a goodie box filled with posters, comics, and even full graphic novels. We’re also working with stores to get copies of books from creators attending the events.

Please contact erik@arcana.com if you are interested. If you have already contacted Erik and nothing concrete has been set up, please ping him again to finalize plans, so we have time to get books to your store!

Thank you very much and we look forward to helping make your FCBD event a success!!!

The Rat Pack was in their prime, the bartenders knew your name, and the same guy who comped your rooms could put a hit on you for stiffing him a tip. High rollers, lounge singers, cigarettes, alcohol, and superpowers. Welcome to Las Vegas!
