Review: Vampblade #4

A surprising secret is revealed!

Now that Katie has learned more about Vampblade, and why killing space vampires feels oh so good, it’s time for both to return to the other-dimensional nest to score a big hit. Can Katie pull off her bold double life gamble, and if she does hack her way out of this showdown with the grotesque parasitic horde, will she be irrevocably changed?!?

Vampblade #4 finishes this story arc and we’ll have some time until the next as issue #5 will be coming out in June. Katie seems to develop a lot more in this issue as she becomes more comfortable with her Vampblade alter-ego. This issue does reveal a surprising secret about the space worms and how long they have been around. More surprising is who reveals the secret, as it is one of the last people you would think of. I’m curious to see how they continue this series.

The art is well done and manages to include a subtle meta moment as Katie reads an old Vampblade comic from the 90’s. It’s an impressive but simple moment of fourth wall breaking. I will admit I love the concluding battle between Vampblade and the strange space worms. It is fluid, violent, and action packed.

Well, when I was younger I wanted to be writer or power ranger from what I recall.Growing up I read constantly, and slowly started to write. Over time my interests changed, but my love of writing remained. I originally went to college for mechanical engineering but dropped out to financial reasons beyond my control.Going through college I wrote when I could, since that has always been a passion. I spend my free time writing, reading and helping out my local FIRST robotics team.

My first book The Nightshadow Chronicles is available through B & N, amazon, google play and other major ebook retailers.
