Robert Pattinson is “Officially” The Batman

Reports are coming out that a deal has closed and Robert Pattinson will be donning the cowl for The Batman directed by Matt Reeves.

Pattinson beat out Nicholas Hoult for the role and reports yesterday said the two were screen testing today. Variety says “the studio confirmed” that a deal was signed. Deadline has a different take and is reporting that Warner Bros. has “approved” the casting and negotiations will be getting underway.

As with all casting, nothing is official until the studio publicly announces it. So, wait until Warner Bros., Reeves, or Pattinson make an official announcement, which is said to be “imminent.” There’s been numerous clickbait casting reports that have turned into nothing in recent years and in fact some were never even on the table to start.

Pre-production for the film begins this summer and it’s set to come to theaters June 25, 2021.

Expect the official roll out to build excitement and buzz to begin at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con.
