Review: The Troop #5

This series doesn’t seem slow down much.

The Troop prepare for their first mission as a team; they even have snazzy uniforms and everything. But can superpowers in the hands of a few reckless kids stand up to the controlled rage of Chalice?

With The Troop #5, this series doesn’t seem slow down much as, the mysterious group that is killing kids with powers is finally confronted. Things go sort of according to plan, as tensions between the twin the sisters cause some internal conflict.  Which makes things interesting as Edward is confronted by an old friend. Except this friend is more than aware of the gifted children and that Edward is collecting them, despite the prophecy.

They finally get costumes. Like most similar mutant based comic books, the costumes are made to work with their specific powers. However unlike say The X-men for example, the Troops costumes are unique to each individual, which is a nice change of pace.  It portrays a sense of individuality despite being part of a team. As for the rest of the artwork, it is solid. Fluid, as the action and fight begins, ending before it gets out hand as the villains pull a radical move in attempt to destroy the Troop.

Well, when I was younger I wanted to be writer or power ranger from what I recall.Growing up I read constantly, and slowly started to write. Over time my interests changed, but my love of writing remained. I originally went to college for mechanical engineering but dropped out to financial reasons beyond my control.Going through college I wrote when I could, since that has always been a passion. I spend my free time writing, reading and helping out my local FIRST robotics team.

My first book The Nightshadow Chronicles is available through B & N, amazon, google play and other major ebook retailers.
