Another light week of books, the highlights include the end to War of Kings and Destroyer, and new issues of Secret Six and Iron Man.

Monthly Comics

Captain America: Reborn #2 – While the first issue left a bad taste in my mouth and confirmed my sour opinion of this “resurrection” this second issue does the exact opposite.  A fantastic issue further exploring Steve Rogers’ trip through time and the philosophical ramifications if he were to act upon his being unstuck.  In the present time our group of heroes continue their attempt to bring Steve back.

Dark Reign: Zodiac #2 – Dark Reign has opened the flood gates to allow the villains to just go crazy, and this is one of those series that goes with that flow.  This limited series is a chaotic fun ride that I just strapped myself in and am enjoying it so far.

Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #2 – The other Deadpool series sees a lot of action with some great humor, this series is a lot of humor and some action.  I’ll take the former.  Sorry, I gave it two issues, this is a series that just doesn’t need to exist.

Destroyer #5 – I was wondering what the end of a series like this has in store, and I have to say I’m quite pleased, it really is a fitting ending for the limited series.

the Invincible Iron Man #16 – Madame Masque holds Tony hostage which leads to a showdown with Pepper Potts.  Who’s the last woman standing?

Irredeemable #5 – For 99 cents I figured I’d give this series from Mark Waid and Peter Krause a shot, and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised.  Enough so I plan on purchasing the trade paperback that covers issues 1-4 to catch up.  Again a smart business decision that might have hooked a new reader.  Hopefully more companies and series take on the 99 cents promotional idea.

Secret Six #12 – The team takes on Wonder Woman.  Great writing, great interaction, great action, such a great series.

War of Kings #6 – It’s the end to this six issue limited series and the ending is jaw dropping.  A fantastic story exploring the concept of preemptive war.

War of Kings: Warriors #2 – Two stories one featuring Crystal and the other Lilandra.  If you’re a huge fan of War of Kings and want a little more or enjoy either of these characters it’s worth the read.  If not, it’s a pass.
