Otakon 2021 Sunday Concert to Feature “The Band Returns: J-MUSIC Ensemble LIVE!”

J-MUSIC Ensemble

Otakorp has announced the Otakon 2021 Sunday concert titled “The Band Returns: J-MUSIC Ensemble LIVE!“. The concert is presented by J-MUSIC Ensemble.

J-MUSIC Ensemble is an 8-piece, jazz-rooted band that is dedicated to bringing new perspectives to the world of Japanese music. Featuring blazing brass melodies and chilling saxophone solos, this band fuses its background in the jazz tradition with the catchy and brilliant nature of modern Japanese music to create powerful new versions of J-Pop/J-Rock songs, anime and video game music, and more. Since its inception, the J-MUSIC Ensemble has been building a sizeable following of dedicated fans around the world and has been notably featured with figures such as Donna Burke (“Metal Gear Solid” series, “Final Fantasy”, “Tokyo Ghoul”) and Adam Neely, with appearances on Nippon TV, KAI-YOU, and other Japanese media outlets. The idea was conceived by world-renowned and Grammy-nominated saxophonist, Patrick Bartley (sasakure.UK, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste), who grew up hearing video game and anime soundtracks while simultaneously learning jazz and other American music styles and had a dream to someday bring those worlds together.

Otakon takes place August 6-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in our nation’s capital of Washington, DC.

He comes with two mini cassette figures, with deco inspired by albums “Energia” and “Vibras”. The Energia Buzzsaw converts to condor mode in 4 steps, and Vibras Stripes converts to tiger mode in 3 steps. The figure also includes a blaster accessory and two rainbow blast effects.

Balvin, who is a diehard Transformers fan and watched the classic G1 animated series as a kid, had a huge part in making this unique collaboration happen. From his love for tigers, which inspired one of the mini-cassette figures with a strong big cat resemblance, to naming the figure J Balvintron.

The NTWRK platform that has brilliantly developed a new form of e-tail – selling products via bite-size video broadcasts and episodic content – will premiere an animated stop motion video highlighting J BALVINTRON converting and an interview with Transformers team designer to give fans a behind the scenes, detailed look at the figure, before debuting for sale.

Beartooth and Z2 Take Readers on The Journey Below

Z2 Comics pairs with Ohio’s hardcore stalwarts Beartooth for the official prequel to their brand-new album, Below. Following up on last week’s release of their brand new album, amidst rave reviews, The Journey Below serves as a prequel to the pummeling sounds of Below; the world of Barry, its demon overlord.

Rock out to the Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack

Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack

DC and Loma Vista Recordings have digitally released the Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack, a companion piece to the best-selling DC comic series by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo that includes seven previously unreleased songs by contributing artists Soccer Mommy, Show Me The Body, IDLES, and more – now available at all DSPs HERE. Physical copies will be available on July 16th.

Executive produced by Tyler Bates (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Watchmen,” “John Wick”), the acclaimed composer here unites an array of artists across various genres, forming his own musical super crew to create a first-of-its kind companion piece of original music, which adds further dimension to the lauded DC “Dark Nights: Death Metal” series through a multimedia experience including custom limited edition comics, videos, and more. All artists involved took a hands-on approach with contributing songs—and in the case of a few, collaborating together for the first time—inspired by the text that depicts a hellish Earth twisted beyond recognition, wherein the Justice League is at the mercy of the Dark Multiverse and a diabolical Batman Who Laughs.
