The Occultist Omnibus in April 2018

Rob Bailey is acquiring another magical book with The Occultist Omnibus! In 2010, writer Tim Seeley brought his rare mix of humor, horror, and heroes to Dark Horse’s own Mike Richardson’s magical creation in a popular one-shot, which soon transformed into a popular ten issue, two volume series! Artists Victor Drujiniu, Mike Norton, and Jason Gorder brought Rob Bailey’s adventure to life while colorists Andrew Dalhouse and Allen Passalaqua provide their supernaturally gorgeous coloring skills to the series. The Occultist Omnibus cover is by artist Steve Morris.

The Occultist Omnibus collects The Occultist #1-#5 and The Occultist Volume 2: At Death’s Door #1-#5. The Occultist Omnibus follows college student Rob Bailey after he stumbles upon a magical book that gives him supernatural powers; he gets not only new occult abilities, but also dangerous problems that come with them. A gang of hitman mages are sent by a sorcerer who wants the book for himself, and Rob has to learn the ropes of his new powers fast before they can get to him.

The Occultist Omnibus goes on sale April 25, 2018. The 256-page trade paperback retails for $24.99.

A Musical Celebration of Bestselling Author Chuck Palahniuk’s New Novella

Bestselling author Chuck Palahniuk has written 14 novels, sold more than 5 million books in the United States, written a New York Times bestselling graphic novel and an acclaimed coloring book and had multiple books adapted for film—and now Palahniuk‘s prose will be inspiring musical performances across the country. The novella, featuring colorable illustrations by Steve Morris and Mike Norton, is on sale from Dark Horse Books on November 7 and performances for Legacy will be held in Brooklyn, Portland and Los Angeles in November.

Founded in Brooklyn in 2009, the Bushwick Book Club meets every month and employs the talents of local songwriters and artists who plumb the depths of a chosen literary gem to create that rare and beautiful thing – a new song (or visual art, dance, film or snack).  All songs are then performed at a live show. The Bushwick Book Club now has several branches all over the world, including Portland, LA, Seattle, Malmo, Sweden, Santa Barbara, New Orleans and Toronto, Canada. The Bushwick Book Club Podcast was launched this year.

The New York show will feature performances by BBC Founder, Susan Hwang, Jessie Kilguss, Charlie Nieland, Juliet Garrett, Terry Radigan, Casey Holford, Timothy Dark, Joanna Kelly, Storm Garner, Jennifer Devore and Earl Maneein.

The Portland show will be hosted by Amy Faust of Mike and Amy in the Morning on the Wolf 99.5 and will feature NYC performers, Susan Hwang, Jessie Kilguss, Charlie Nieland, Larry Krone and Portland participants, Mike Danner, Alan Kanning, Ian MacKintosh, Jetty Swart, Matt Schulte and Don Rauf.

The LA show will feature BBC Founder, Susan Hwang and Charlie Nieland as Lusterlit from NYC, BBC L.A. founder, Stacy Rock, Nicole Tourtelot, Justin Remer, writer Deenah Vollmer, Dr. Sherri Canon, Molly White and others to be announced.
