From Executive Producer Kevin Smith, comes an epic story that picks up where the 80’s series left off and brings the power of Grayskull back to the world. Part 1 of Masters of the Universe: Revelation premieres July 23, only on Netflix.
Mattel and Dark Horse Comics have announced Masters of the Universe: Revelation, a four-issue miniseries. Starting in July 2021, the series will serve as a prequel to the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Revelation series from Netflix and Mattel Television premiering this year.
The story arc for the new comics was conceived by the show’s executive producers Kevin Smith and Rob David, who also served as the creative director and a writer of DC Comics’ Masters of the Universe releases from 2012 – 2020, as well as show writer Tim Sheridan. Mindy Lee provides the art and color while Stjepan Sejic created the cover art for issue #1 with Dave Wilkins providing cover art for issues #2-#4. Mattel and Dark Horse will also release an issue #1 variant by Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart. Additional variant artists for subsequent issues include Bill Sienkiewicz, Walt Simonson with Laura Martin, and more.
In the comic book, following a vicious Orlax attack on his father King Randor, He-Man learns the creature is linked to the origin of the sword of power. To save Randor and put an end to the chaos, He-Man embarks on an epic journey that pits him against his longtime foes Skeletor and Evil-Lyn, and sees Teela take the reins of a powerful legacy.
The first installment of four for the Masters of the Universe: Revelation comic is currently available for pre-order and will be released July 7, 2021. Additional comic books will be released on August 11, September 9, and October 13, 2021.

Netflix has revealed that the 1980s Masters of the Universe will return in a new animated show. Masters of the Universe: Revelation picks up where the first series left off. Netflix is working with Kevin Smith for the show. Smith will serve as the project showrunner and executive producer for the limited anime series.
Revelation will focus on unresolved storylines from the 80s show and is not a reboot like the recent She-Ra and the Princesses of Power which also is on Netflix.
Mattel Television is producing the series while Powerhouse Animation is handling the animation. Powerhouse is behind Netflix’s Castlevania.
It’s unknown when the series will debut.

If you’ve seen Captain Marvel, you know there’s some teases that writer/director Kevin Smith lives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Smith took to Facebook with his reaction at the revelation which you can see below.

DC Comics has unveiled full story details on the landmark 1,000th issue of Detective Comics, debuting on March 27, 2019. The 96-page Detective Comics #1000 celebrates the Dark Knight through a series of seven-to-nine-page standalone short stories from an all-star collection of the top writers and artists in Batman’s recent history including Tom King, Tony Daniel and Joëlle Jones, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Peter J. Tomasi and Doug Mahnke, Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, Warren Ellis and Becky Cloonan and more.

Two of the biggest powerhouse writers and artists in the comic book industry work together on a story featuring Batman helping a young man escape from Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins— who then turned up in Gotham, dead. Batman travels to Tibet with a message for the League.

The creative team behind SCARLET takes a unique future look at Batman and the Penguin. “Batman’s Greatest Case” by Tom King, Tony Daniel and Joëlle Jones
Groundbreaking BATMAN writer Tom King is joined by Tony Daniel and Joëlle Jones, who share artistic duties on the story. Presented using parallel story threads, Bruce Wayne visits his parents’ grave while Batman assembles his entire coalition of allies around him.
