WizKids Open 2016- Round 2!

Wizkids Open ContinuesWizkids has announced the second round of the 2016 Wizkids Open, a series of gaming events that are officially sponsored. The events will take place May 14th-15th, 2016 and takes place at 30 game stores across the United States. The events allow individuals to qualify for National Events for Heroclix and Dice Masters.

The events will crown a Regional Champion which qualifies the individual for the U.S. National Championship with takes place at Origins Game Fair. Each tournament will be limited to 32 players.

On top of the gaming, there’ll be all-new 2016 Convention Exclusive Prizes for purchase as well as Heroclix  Battle Royales, Dice Masters Rainbow Drafts, and Dice Masters Quick Plays. You’ll be able to win exclusive figures and foil promo cards.

Players will also be given the opportunity to purchase two of the 2016 For Sale HeroClix Convention Exclusives for the first time ever!

The WizKids Open is Back!

WizKids has announced the return of the “WizKids Open” series of in-store tabletop game tournaments for 2016. The 2016 WizKids Open program includes a series of regional tournaments, held at selected friendly local game shops, where players will battle it out in HeroClix, Dice Masters, and Attack Wing games for supremacy and amazing prizes.

While previous WizKids Open events were limited to stores in the United States, WizKids has begun a global expansion by opening up the tournaments to retailers and players in Europe, Latin America and Canada.

At the WizKids Open events, which begin in February 2016 in the US, players will not only be battling it out for a chance to win their regional titles, but also can earn eligibility to participate in the National WizKids tournaments.

While participating stores in Latin America and Canada will be revealed in the coming weeks, with Europe following shortly after, WizKids Open 2016 US locations include:

  • Coliseum of Comics (Orlando, FL)
  • Chicagoland Games (Chicago, IL)
  • Games and Stuff (Glen Burnie, MD)

DC HeroClix: Superman/ Wonder Woman Unboxing

Wizkids Plans for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Heroclix

Superman Batman Booster Brick figures2016 will be a big year for DC Comics and Warner Bros with the release of the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which brings three icons, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, together in a live action film. There’ll be a lot of tie-ins, and it should be no surprise that Wizkids will be getting in on the action with numerous releases for their miniature game Heroclix.

Scheduled to release in February, Heroclix will get a number of releases tied into both the film and comics.

For the comic related release there will be four products, a Booster Brick, a Fast Forces pack, a Dice & Token Pack and a Release Day Organized Play Kit.

DC Comics Heroclix: Superman/Batman Booster Brick is based on the classic team-up comics. The series features Superman, Batman, and many of their allies and enemies including the Metal Men, the Doom Patrol, and mystical and supernatural characters. Each booster holds five figures out of the total set of 70, which is comprised of 16 common, 16 uncommon, 16 rare, 12 super rare, 6 chase, and 4 prime figures. MSRP is $12.99 per booster, and 10 boosters are included in each Booster Brick.

The DC Comics Heroclix: Superman/Batman “World’s Finest” Fast Forces package will include six Heroclix figures plus an exclusive 3D object. The figures will be Superman, Batman, Poison Ivy, Nightwing, Toymaster, and Lex Luthor, all with new dials. The release should retail for $16.99.

The DC Comics Heroclix: Superman/Batman Dice & Token Pack includes eight accessories for use with the game. That includes two custom dice with the logos of Batman and Superman and six action tokens. The release should retail for $9.99.

The DC Comics Heroclix: Release Day Organized Play Kit includes prizes and resources for stores that want to host a release day event. Each kit has three copies of a limited edition Heroclix figure and card, five copies of a double-sided game map, and a sheet of rules and instructions. The kit is not meant for sale.

There are also two products tied to the film releasing in February.

The DC Comics Heroclix: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Gravity Feed includes both a Version A SKU for the hobby market and a Version B SKU for mass market retail. Each of the two versions will offer 13 different models, all representing characters from the movie.  There will be 8 common figures, 4 rare figures, and 1 chase figure. The common figures will overlap, but the rare and chase figures from each version will be exclusive to its release. Each countertop display comes with 24 foil packs, each containing a single figure, and  retail is $2.99 per pack.

The DC Comics Heroclix: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Fast Forces pack featuring six characters from the movie, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Mercy Graves, and Lex Luthor. It will retail for $16.99.

WizKids Releases Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel HeroClix Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. BrickWizKids has announced the release of the Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. set, which is available now in North American retail stores. The Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. set features a mix of past and present agents (and enemies) of S.H.I.E.L.D., including the evil agents of Hydra. This series also includes 15 randomly inserted ID Cards in the booster packs, allowing players to call their favorite characters into battle during their HeroClix games.

Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. also features the all-new Build-A-Clix figure — five objects (and a Base/Card) randomly inserted into various packs in the series that can be assembled to create the Hulkbuster Mk II Armor!

All in all, the Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. set contains 101 items to collect— this includes: 16 Common figures (plus 8 variants), 16 Uncommon figures (plus 2 variants), 16 Rare figures, 12 Super-Rare figures (plus 1 variant), 5 Chase figures, 4 Prime figures, 6 Hulkbuster Mk. WizKids Partners with Nickelodeon for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tabletop Games

TMNT HeroclixAt Origins Game Fair today, WizKids announced a partnership with Nickelodeon to produce multiple tabletop games based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. The first two games developed under this partnership will be a special series of TMNT HeroClix figures, and a TMNT Dice Masters game, both set for release later this year.

WizKids has seen great successes in its HeroClix collectible figure-battling and Dice Masters Dice Building products, and is very excited to bring fan-favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters, spanning all iterations of the comics from classic to present day as well as the classic cartoon and current hit CG-animated series on Nickelodeon, to both games.

WizKids’ X-Men: Mutant Revolution is Out Now

X-Men Mutant RevolutionWizKids and Gale Force Nine have released the new HeroClix strategy game X-Men: Mutant Revolution, in North American retail this week.

X-Men: Mutant Revolution allows you to play as classic X-Men characters — including Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto, and Storm — as they lead their school against its rivals. In the game, 3-4 players will recruit heroes and students, training each team and sending them on missions to spread your vision for mutants to the world.
