Official Press Release

Marvel Custom Solutions Joins Forces With ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition This Sunday!

This Sunday at 8/7c, Marvel Custom Solutions joins the heroes of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for the most marvel-ous home renovation of the season! Meet Patrick Sharrock, a young boy with a rare disability that he overcomes daily with a super heroic mix of humor, perseverance, and a positive attitude.

Marvel Entertainment and Earth’s Mightiest Designers—Ty Pennington, Xzibit, Ed Sanders, Eduardo Xol, and Leigh Anne Tuohy—pay homage to the hero in Patrick as his new home school classroom is designed around his very own super hero alter ego! Plus, don’t miss all new art from Marvel artist Todd Nauck illustrating the design team’s heroic journey to help a family who inspires us all.

“With his shining heart and unbreakable spirit, Patrick is an inspiration to all of us here at Marvel,” said Marvel editor Bill Rosemann. “It was an honor for everyone involved to do our small part to help bring his dreams to life. Captain America, Thor, and the rest of our mighty crime-fighters salute Patrick and the entire Sharrock family, who are our true heroes.”

Brady Connell, Executive Producer,  Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, explained, “From the second we told them about Patrick Sharrock, Marvel Custom Solutions was committed to creating a comic book framework for this unique episode. Their top artists transformed some of our traditional scenes, and made the show feel like a comic book come to life.  Patrick and his father, both comic fans, will love it when they see it!”

ABC’s Extreme Makeover is one of those television shows where you can’t help to either have a big grin on your face or be bawling with tears rolling down your cheeks.  On  This Sunday’s episode features the Wagstaff family of Gainesville, Florida, who received a brand new home to replace their rotting abode for their work as the founders of a non-profit music school.  Marvel is helping design a room for TJ, one of the children of the family.  Disney, which owns ABC, also recently purchased Marvel for a little over $4 billion.

The room was created by designers from Marvel Entertainment and includes Marvel merchandise as well as an original piece of artwork by Todd Nauck featuring TJ alongside several members of The Avengers.  The artwork will not only appear on the show, but also as the variant cover to Superheroes #1, which goes on sale April 14.

The episode will also feature KISS.  So watch this Sunday and rock and roll and party every day!
