Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in!

Each week our contributors are choosing up to five books and why they’re choosing the books. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this Wednesday.

Top Pick: Catwoman #1 (DC Comics) – Selina Kyle hits Gotham to catch a copycat who’s sullying her bad/good name. Sounds like one hell of a way to celebrate your nuptials and I am all the here for it.

Top Pick: Harley Quinn Rebirth Deluxe Collection Vol. 2 HC (DC Comics) – One of my favorite runs on the series before Jimmy and Amanda gave it up. Nostalgia, great art and brilliant political and feminist writing make this a no-brainer.

Orphan Black: Crazy Science #1 (IDW Publishing) –  You can never go wrong with an Orphan Black arc and this one is about balancing love and finding a cure all the human and science fun than we’ve come to love from OB.

Harley Quinn #45 (DC Comics) – Harley gets kidnapped! I don’t know who’s stupid enough to do that but, I know this is going to be one hell of a story.

Death of the Inhumans #1 (Marvel) – This makes the list because I want to see them die after subjecting us to that gawd awful tv show and this might just be the redemption to take that taste out of my mouth.

Top Pick: Captain America #1 (Marvel) – Ta-Nehisi Coates takes over Captain America and is picking up post Secret Empire with a Captain America that’s distrusted by the people and a massive leadership gap. What does it mean to be Captain America in today’s world?

Batman #50 (DC Comics) – Do they? Don’t they? What’s the twist!? We’ll find out Wednesday.

Dark Ark #8 (AfterShock) – This new spin on Noah’s Ark and the Bible has been fascinating to read with a great mix of horror thrown in there. Every issue has been fantastic.

Man of Steel #6 (DC Comics) –  The miniseries is wrapping up and I want to see how Superman’s battle wraps up and what’s going on with Lois and Jonathan. Individual issues have been ok but the whole is so much better.

The Walking Dead #181 (Skybound Entertainment/Image Comics) – The series is getting really interesting with a new community and the possibility that Rick’s the bad guy in this one. I’m intrigued as to where it’s all going.
