Oni Press has announced the hiring of David Dissanayake as Sales Manager.
David Dissanayake joins the Oni Press team after two years with Magnetic Press, where he served as Director of Sales & Marketing. At Magnetic Press, he launched Ulises Fariñas’ publishing imprint Buño, and served as editor on several award winning books such as LRNZ’s Golem, the three-time Eisner Award nominee Tony Sandoval’s autobiography, Rendez-Vous in Phoenix, and the forthcoming Black Comix art book anthology curated by Harvard Fellow and Eisner Award winner John Jennings. He has almost a decade’s worth of retail experience, most recently as manager of Mission: Comics & Art, a book store and art gallery in San Francisco. Dissanayake’s hire follows the departure of Oni Press’s Director of Sales, Shy Allot.
His hiring will help Oni increase their outreach to the bookstore and library market.
