Blizzard and Titan Comics Team Up for Comics Set in the Diablo Universe

Titan Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have announced an all-new comic book series set in the universe of the critically acclaimed and genre-defining action role-playing game series Diablo.

Written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by Piotr Kowalski, Diablo will launch with a four-part miniseries in 2018. The comics will follow a group of zealous scholars and crusaders as they discover the true origins of humanity. Will their faith survive these shocking revelations?

Set in the dark and demon-infested world of Sanctuary, the Diablo game series invites players to face down the infernal hordes of the Burning Hells—and rewards them for their efforts with piles and piles of epic loot. Diablo III, the current installment, set a record for fastest-selling PC game, with over 3.5 million copies sold in the first day of its release, and more than 30 million sold to date. Diablo III is available for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.

The Starcraft Universe is Explored in a New Comic Miniseries from Dark Horse and Blizzard

Dark Horse and Blizzard Entertainment have announced a new four-issue comic series: StarCraft: Scavengers. This comic series is the latest addition to Dark Horse and Blizzard Entertainment’s line of publications, preceded by The Art of Overwatch, Overwatch Anthology: Volume 1, and World of Warcraft Chronicle (volumes I and II).

Writer Jody Houser and artist Gabriel Guzmán join forces for StarCraft: Scavengers, a new comic series further exploring the expansive universe of Blizzard’s acclaimed science-fiction real-time strategy game series. In StarCraft: Scavengers, a group of terrans hopes to pull off the job of their lifetimes: pillaging a derelict protoss ship in a decaying orbit above an uninhabited planet. The scavengers’ dangerous mission is seen from the point of view of a young, inexperienced engineer. The team must scavenge the ship’s priceless tech before it burns up in the planet’s atmosphere, but can they beat the clock and avoid being busted by Dominion police forces?

Originally released by Blizzard Entertainment in 1998, StarCraft is a real-time strategy game that chronicles the interstellar war between three galactic species: the protoss, the zerg, and the terrans. The saga continues in the acclaimed sequel StarCraft II, which is now available free-to-play—including the epic, award-winning Wings of Liberty™ campaign.

The first issue (of four) of the StarCraft: Scavengers comic series goes on sale July 25, 2018.

Dark Horse Comics Teams Up with Blizzard Entertainment for Overwatch

Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have joined forces on a publishing program centered around the hottest game of the year, Overwatch. The program consists of a slate of products based on Blizzard’s team shooter, including digital comics, a graphic novel, and an art book.

Dark Horse has already begun republishing a series of free digital comics by Blizzard Entertainment that further illuminate the characters and world of Overwatch. A number of eight-page digital comics are already available through Dark Horse’s digital comics platforms, with more currently in production and slated for release in the future.

A hardcover original Overwatch graphic novel has been slotted for release in April 2017. This brand-new entry in the Overwatch canon will contain one hundred pages of sequential artwork telling the story of the original Overwatch strike team.

Summer 2017 will see the release of The Art of Overwatch, a stunning collection of never-before-seen concept art from the critically acclaimed game. Stay tuned for more details regarding The Art of Overwatch.

Dark Horse Comics Sets the Date for World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1

Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have set a release date for the first in a multivolume series detailing the history of the Warcraft universe: World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1.

On March 15, World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 will hit shelves, taking readers on a journey through an age of myth and legend long before the Horde and the Alliance came to be. This definitive tome of Warcraft lore reveals untold stories about the birth of the cosmos, the rise of ancient empires, and the forces that shaped the world of Azeroth and its people.

This beautiful hardcover book features over twenty full-page illustrations by World of Warcraft artist Peter Lee and is the first in a multipart series exploring the Warcraft universe, from its distant past to the current era. Volume 1 covers the creation of the Warcraft universe up to the story of the original Warcraft: Orcs & Humans.

World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 goes on sale March 15, 2016.
