NYCC 2017: Dark Horse Announces Their Programming Schedule

You can visit Dark Horse Comics at NYCC for free swag, such as comics, pins, postcards, and more! But, they also have lots of signings and panels you should check out too! Below is what you can expect from Dark Horse at this year’s New York Comic Con.

DARK HORSE NYCC SIGNING SCHEDULE

All creators signing in their booth offer their autographs for FREE. FREE prints, comics, or posters are provided for most of our signings (while supplies last). You may purchase or bring items to be signed; however, we may restrict the type or number of items to be signed as necessary.

Some signings require a wristband for entry, as noted on the schedule. Drawings for wristbands for these events will begin at show opening the day before and day of each signing. Come to the Dark Horse booth early for the best chance to join these events. Lines may also be closed for some signings due to crowding or time restrictions.

There’s two signing stages. One is the Dark Horse stage; the other showcases Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch with art from the Overwatch: Anthology Volume 1. The location of each signing is indicated by the following abbreviations:

Join Irene Koh, the artist behind The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars, and Janet Varney, the voice of Korra in The Legend of Korra television series, for a further exploration of the world. Fans will also have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of the elements in a fun trivia competition for awesome prizes!

BOOM! Studios Announces their San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives for 2017

BOOM! Studios will exhibit at the 48th annual Comic-Con International: San Diego (commonly referred to as San Diego Comic-Con, or SDCC), which will take place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, during the weekend of July 19 – July 23. The publisher will debut an upgraded booth design—its boldest yet—which can be found at #2229. In addition, BOOM! Studios revealed exclusives for 2017 that will be available for purchase at its booth while supplies last. (BOOM! Studios will reveal its panels and signings at a later date.)

Adventure Time/Regular Show # 1 SDCC Exclusive

Four bros. Two shows. One epic quest. Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Regular Show mash together in this unprecedented crossover event written by Conor McCreery (Kill Shakespeare) and illustrated by Mattia Di Meo, published by the KaBOOM! imprint of BOOM! Studios. This San Diego Comic-Con exclusive of issue #1 is the worldwide debut of the series and features a cover by Sanford Greene (Power Man and Iron Fist).


The Amory Wars: Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV #3 SDCC Exclusive

This San Diego Comic-Con exclusive cover by Eryk Donovan (Quantum Teens Are Go) connects with the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive cover to Amory Wars: Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV #4, available at the Evil Ink booth, to form the complete “Good Vs. Evil” image (see below). Written by Claudio Sanchez (of Coheed and Cambria) and Chondra Echert (Translucid), illustrated by Rags Morales (Action Comics), and published by BOOM! Studios.

BOOM! Studios’ KaBOOM! Imprint presents a one-of-a-kind item, extremely limited, for fans of Patrick McHale’s Over the Garden Wall. From the publisher of the tie-in comics comes a 7” x 5” zine written by Ryan Ferrier (Regular Show: Wrasslesplosion) and illustrated by Over the Garden Wall storyboard artist Jim Campbell, featuring two different covers, each by Campbell.


Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers #1 Double Gatefold SDCC Exclusive

With Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers, BOOM! SDCC 2015: Oni Press Announces Three New Series

ONI_PRESS_LOGO-CAMPAIGNOni Press announced at their San Diego Comic-Con Editorial panel three new 2016 titles: Over the Surface, by Natalie Nourigat, Another Castle, by Andrew Wheeler and Paulina Ganucheau, and The Mighty Zodiac, by J. Torres and Corin Howell.

Working with Natalie Nourigat, Paulina Ganucheau and Corin Howell, Oni Press is extremely pleased to be able to support incredibly talented women creators in each of their new titles. Natalie Nourigat has become a star to watch since her early collaboration with Oni Press on A Boy and a Girl, Paulina Ganucheau has gone from success to success and anticipation could not be higher for her upcoming Zodiac Starforce series, while Corin Howell continues to receive glowing critical praise for Transformers: Windblade.

In Over the Surface, written and illustrated by Natalie Nourigat, Ava Lefevre longs to be a pilot but the Solveran Army doesn’t allow women into its ranks. However the country is at war with a neighboring country, Isolestra, and needs all the help in can get. Taking advantage of this, Ava boasts to a recruitment party that she can outfly their best pilot, Victor. A dogfight is set up between the two and Ava comes out on top – buying her enrollment into the military. Ava finally has everything she’s always wanted but soon discovers that there’s more to the war than what the government is telling civilians – especially after she’s tasked with taking down the growing resistance movement in Solvera. Another Castle, written by Andrew Wheeler and illustrated by Paulina Ganucheau, is the story of Princess Misty, captured by the evil Badlug, who quickly mounts an escape and is nearly out the door when she discovers that her disappearance would have terrible consequences. Because without a princess, the prince won’t come, and without the prince, the legendary sword that can kill Badlug also won’t come. And if Misty leaves, Badlug will be infuriated, and take it out on the citizens of Grimoire. It’s happened before, when Misty’s own mother died while she was Badlug’s prisoner, and he blew up his own castle. So Misty returns to captivity, and conspires with the citizens of the castle to bring a regime change to Grimoire. Together, they team up with the bumbling prince, get the sword, and free the kingdom.

The Mighty Zodiac, written by J. Torres and illustrated by Corin Howell, begins when six stars fall out of the sky to earth. Master Long sends a message to his students, all members of the Zodiac Clan, to collect the stars and return them to their base. However, the Moon Rabbit Army is also after the stars, and will stop at nothing to make sure they don’t get back to Master Long – even if it means snuffing them out. It’s up to the Zodiac Clan to not only collect the stars but protect their ailing Master Long from the Moon Rabbit Army’s might.
