Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Absolute Martian Manhunter #9 (DC Comics) – The series has been trippy sci-fi and might say Absolute but feels more Vertigo.

Absolute Wonder Woman #17 (DC Comics) – The comic has gotten better and better as it has progressed and Wonder Woman has to take on Zatanna who has brought along some friends to help.

Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 (Marvel) – The next big Marvel Spider-Man event starts here.

Escape #6 (Image Comics) – The series has been an amazing war comic with some fantastic art.

The Infernal Hulk #4 (Marvel) – The best comic Marvel is putting out right now. Great art and solid mix of horror.

Is Ted OK? #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – The series seems to be an interesting psychological exploration and gotten a lot of buzz so far.

Murder Drones #1 (Oni Press) – We don’t know a ton about this property but its gotten a lot of buzz so we’re checking it out.

Murder Podcast #5 (Ignition Press) – The series has been interesting horror as a podcast turns people into murderers. We want to know what’s going on!

My Friend Kim Jong Un (Drawn & Quarterly) – A graphic novel exploring the world leader and split between North and South Korea.

New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident #1 (DC Comics/Milestone) – It’s felt like Milestone has had a few starts and stops in recent years, but we want to see what this one-shot brings and what it might lead to.

The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #1 (DC Comics/Vertigo) – The return of Vertigo has been solid so far and this new series has a detective/noir thing going we’re excited to check out.

Punisher #1 (Marvel) – The Punisher is back!

Save Now #3 (Bad Idea) – The series has been a really cool new take on the superhero genre and honestly, we have no idea where it’s going. That’s a good thing.

Spirit of the Shadows #2 (Oni Press) – The series’ first issue ended with a solid twist that we want to find out more about.

Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera #1 (Skybound) – Another classic horror series comics to comics from Skybound!

Voyeur #4 (Ignition Press) – The comic is a perfect mix between sexy and cool about a thief who’s stealing paintings at a resort.

Wrestle Heist #3 (Image Comics) – The series has been a lot of fun as a bunch of wrestlers decide to rob a promotion to get back at its owner.
