Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Alien Paradiso #1 (Marvel) – Colonial Marshals head to Paradiso, a hidden gem where the money flows like blood, to bust a smuggling ring. We expect all hell to break loose.

Batman: Dark Patterns #1 (DC Comics) – Set during the early years of Batman’s career, Batman: Dark Patterns delves into four mysterious cases as he attempts to cement his place as Gotham City’s protector while the city itself fights back against him.

City Beneath Her Feet #1 (DSTLRY) – A bloody love letter to New York City, the series is an action/thriller love story from James Tynion IV and Elsa Charretier.

Conan the Barbarian #17 (Titan Comics) – One of the most consistent comics on the shelves. If you’re into classic sword and sorcery, this is one to not be missed.

FML #2 (Dark Horse) – As Portland smolders, an airplane door falls from the sky, flinging Riley’s Mom into a trauma-induced reverie. This leads to a bizarre encounter with physicist Richard Feynman and ends with a gathering of middle-aged riot grrrls united to solve the murder that haunts them all.

Holiday Special: Through the Boughs #1 (DSTLRY) – A one-shot collection from some impressive talent!

In Bloom #1 (BOOM! Studios) – While the concept of fungus infecting and changing people isn’t new, we’re always up for some sci-fi horror like this.

Laura Kinney: Wolverine #1 (Marvel) – We’re excited to see how this series stands out from the rest of the X lineup.

Minor Arcana #4 (BOOM! Studios) – Jeff Lemire creator-owned series. Nuff said.

Space Ghost #8 (Dynamite Entertainment) – The painful events of the past meet the brutal events of the present as Space Ghost and Metallus clash – and while these titans do battle, Space Ghost’s young allies learn the shocking secrets behind their mentor’s tragic history! We want to know!

Transformers #15 (Skybound) – The Transformers universe has been awesome so far. It’s taken familiar characters and concepts and twisted them up. Now we have Starscream with his own faction looking for revenge and we’re expecting fireworks.

Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1 (Marvel) – It’s been one year of the Ultimate Universe and we want to see what secrets come out of this.

Warm Fusion #1 (DSTLRY) – A future New York City has been devastated by crime, ongoing storms, radiation from a terrorist incident, and genetic mutations. A lone cop and a victim confront a sociopathic scientist.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (Marvel) – A tie-in to the upcoming animated series!
