Top Gun: Maverick has only a slight dip as the top five weekend box office remains unchanged

Top Gun: Maverick dipped just 32.1% which is an amazing little amount for a blockbuster debut. The film grossed an estimated $85.6 million in its second week. Domestically, the film has grossed $291.6 million after two weeks. Over the week, the film also grossed $147.4 million over the week to bring its international total to $257 million. In just two weeks the film has grossed $548.6 million worldwide.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness crossed the $900 million mark. Coming in second place, the film grossed an estimated $9.3 million to lift its domestic total to $388.7 million. Over the week, the film grossed $22.8 million at the international box office to lift that to $520.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $909.4 million after 4 weeks.

In third place was The Bob’s Burgers Movie which dipped 63.8% from its debut the previous week. The film earned an estimated $4.5 million to bring its domestic total to $22.2 million. The film earned over $1.6 million over the week at the international box office to bring that to $1.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $23.9 million.

The Bad Guys moved up one slot to come in fourth place. The film grossed an estimated $3.3 million to bring that to $87.3 million. Over the week, the film grossed about $14.8 million to bring its international total to just under $131 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $218.3 million.

Downton Abbey: A New Era slipped to fifth place and earned just under $3 million to bring its domestic total to $35.7 million. Internationally, the film grossed a little over $600,000 of the week to increase that total to $41 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $76.7 million.

In comic film news…

Morbius returned to theaters and its totals haven’t been updated. The film is still at $73.3 million domestically. Internationally, the film remained steady with $90 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $163.3 million (about a trillion Morbinbucks).

The Batman looks like it remained steady domestically having earned $369.3 million. Over the week, the movie earned about $1,000,000 internationally to bring that total to $401 million. The film currently stands at $770.3 million.

Initial numbers have 54 films earning $121,645,009 from 30142 theaters. That’s a dip from last weekend’s 45 films which earned $177,186,698 from 30,523 theaters. It’s another strong weekend for 2022. The average earning was $4,035.73 this past weekend, about 25% last from the previous weekend’s $5,805.02.
