Dana Canedy is Named Publisher of Simon & Schuster

Effective July 27, Dana Canedy is the new Senior Vice President and Publisher of the Simon & Schuster imprint. Canedy is the successor to Jonathan Karp who became CEO of the company earlier this year.

Canedy had been the administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes since 2017 and has worked at the New York Times covering a wide range of topics. She was the lead writer and editor on the series “How Race is Live in America,” which won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for national reporting.

Beyond reporting at the Times, Canedy was part of its senior management team involved in hiring, management training, and staff development.
