Creators4Comics Raises Over $430,000 to Help Comic Stores

Creators 4 Comics

The comic community rallied around stores raising over $430,000 with proceeds going to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).

The auction took place on Twitter under the hashtag #Creators4Comics and saw over 100 contributors participate and offer experiences, art, comic collections, and more.

BINC has expanded its mission to help book stores and comic stores during these times. BINC’s assistance varies depending on the needs of retailers. BINC is focused on helping with expenses such as medical or personal household under the following circumstances:

  • If a bookstore employee contracts an illness and cannot go to work.
  • If a member of a bookseller’s household contracts an illness and the employee is forced to quarantine themselves to prevent further spread of the virus.
  • If a bookseller loses more than 50% of their scheduled work hours because residents are told not to go to work.
  • If a bookseller loses more than 50% of their scheduled work hours due to a mandatory quarantine.

You can donate directly to the charity to help stores and employees in need.

Combined efforts of donations by publishers, this auction, and more have raised well over $1 million help comic shops.
