BOOM! Studios has revealed a first look at The Avant-Guards #7, the newest chapter in the twelve-issue series from writer Carly Usdin and artist Noah Hayes about a ragtag group of friends who band together to build the first ever basketball team at their historic women’s art college, available in stores August 21, 2019.
The Avant-Guards’ hot streak has ended in a resounding loss, and team’s dealing with the disappointment, although it looks like team captain Olivia “Liv” Bates is taking it particularly hard. Even Charlie can’t shake her out of her funk. As the members of the Avant-Guards each deal with the defeat in their own ways, Liv is pushing everyone away just when she needs them most. Can Charlie get through to Liv in time to save their fractured team and budding relationship? Or does this spell the end for Liv’s dreams for this ragtag team and her star player?
