Martian Manhunter has been in the spotlight more and more and starting this December he’ll star in a new 12-issue series written by Steve Orlando with art by Riley Rossmo. The character last headlined a title in 2015. The character debuted in 1955 and recently has been seen on the CW’s Supergirl and is a regular member of the reworked Justice League.

The new series re-examines the character’s origins. It’s also a return to the character’s detective roots as J’onzz will don his human persona of John Jones, a detective, that attempts to solve a murder which may tie into his own past on Mars.

The series will explore the character’s los sof his family and people on Mars and how that impacts him now.
