Don’t Breathe Remains in First, Suicide Second Holds on to Second

dont-breathe-2016-posterDon’t Breathe remained in first place in its second week in the box office as it brought in an estimated $15.7 million. The film is only the second horror to top the weekend box office two weekends in a row since 2014.

Suicide Squad inched closer to $300 million as it added $10 million this past weekend at the domestic box office. The film stands at $297.4 million right now, so it’ll cross $300 million some time this week. The film currently sits at $672.9 million worldwide. This coming weekend the film opens in Japan, so expect an even greater boost over the next few weeks.

In new films, The Light Between Oceans opened in sixth with $4.98 million, No Manches Frida was twelfth with $3.65 million, and Morgan was seventeenth with $1.96 million.

In comic movie news, Captain America: Civil War added $96,000 to its domestic total. The film has earned $407.96 million domestically and $1.153 worldwide.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows added an estimated $37,000 to bring its domestic total to $82 million and $244.4 million worldwide.
