TV Review: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow S1E13 Leviathan
In DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Rip takes the team to 2166 London, three months before his family is killed. He believes this is their final opportunity to take out Savage, who is at the height of his power.
After last week’s really entertaining time jumping adventure, Rip is now convinced there’s one last chance to stop Savage and that’s in the future, which is very dark. Like really dark. Did Savage steal light and colors in this world?
I don’t think there’s a solid case as to why this moment is “the” moment as opposed to every minute that’s passed up to this point (again why haven’t they killed him as a kid?), but, the action is there and for once it really feels like heroes being heroes.
But even with their being heroes there’s still logical leaps and fallacies that had me screaming at the television, especially since the time aspect is a little muddled in the series. But, things just don’t feel consistent at times and there’s just some decisions that are too frustrating.
I found myself really screaming when the opportunity to kill Savage is there and… well, I won’t ruin it for folks who haven’t seen the episode yet.
The episode does wrap up with some interesting quandaries, enough of them to keep me entertained. I guess it’s good television that I care at all, but this is a series that might get you rather frustrated. Still, it’s improving as the series has moved on.
