TV Review: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow S1E9 Left Behind
In DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Ray, Sara and Kendra are shocked when they watch the Waverider fly off without them, leaving them stranded in the 1950s. After waiting months for their teammates to come back, the three realize they must move on with their lives.
This first season has a bit uneven and this episode is one of the stronger ones with the team stuck in the 1950s figuring out what to do next, Chronos still in pursuit and all sorts of things going wrong.
The episode is a solid one for a few reasons. One, there’s some good twists and turns. Two, it has the characters actually growing as characters. Three, there’s some decent action. And what does it not deal with? Vandal Savage!
The episode really focuses on Ray and Kendra who are living together and with the Waverider’s eventual return, they need to figure out what their lives will be like now they’re back into the action. It’s all rather cute and thankfully the series has gotten Kendra away from the shittacular Hawkman.
Sara is off doing what she knows best and that leads the team going to go get her. There’s some good show downs. There’s some good discussions. There’s some good twists. Cheesy lines are made fun. Everything is good.
I can’t knock the episode a whole lot. It does a very good job moving some of the characters forward and continuing the story along quite well. It does exactly what this show should be doing. Hopefully we see more of this.
