Love it or hate it, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set up a lot to come down the road in DC movies. At the end of the film Luthor said “he’s coming” leaving things a bit ambiguous. Is it Darkseid he’s referring to? Brainiac? Someone else?

Warner Bros. has released a deleted scene (that definitely should have been deleted) called “Communion” that has Luthor in the Kryptonian ship communicating with what looks like a weird version of Darkseid’s minion Steppenwolf and what’s definitely Motherboxes.
