TV Review: The Walking Dead S6E14 Twice as Far

walking-dead-5 photoTwo different groups leave Alexandria on supply runs. While both are concerned with the future of the community, immediate danger will derail them.

The Walking Dead‘ gives us the quiet before the storm in this episode which foreshadows so much.

The first group of Eugene and Abraham head out on a trip where the two have an interesting heart to heart in a few ways and they lay out their issues in their own ways. The interaction also leads to something from the comics that’s been building for some time where Eugene does get to show off some talents of his and shows how he’s one of the more important members of Rick’s group.

Then there’s the other party of Denise who asks Rosita to go on a run and Daryl comes along. The mission is to grab some medicine and also give us a focus on a few characters who just haven’t had much of a spotlight.

It’s interesting in their two different groups the theme is empowerment in some way. Denise gives a speech to Rosita how she’s strong and Eugene shows off his strengths as well, but this is the quiet before the storm afterall and that comes with about 10 minutes left.

I don’t want to spoil things, but another member falls as a Dwight returns, burnt face and all, and he’s bringing along Daryl’s crossbow and some of his Savior friends. There’s only a few episodes left this season and we’re not even close to the all out war that’ll engulf Rick’s group with Negan’s Saviors.

The episode ends with Carol’s voice over and some interesting thoughts that’ll keep you thinking until the next episode.
