TV Review: The Walking Dead S6E12 Not Tomorrow Yet

walking-dead-5 photoRick and the group realize the only way to maintain the peace of Alexandria is to fight a new enemy. This time, though, the group might be outmatched.

The Walking Dead‘ ramps up the tension as Rick talks his fellow Alexandrians in to taking the fight to the Saviors in a rather elaborate plan that has them assaulting their compound at night and using a decoy.

To say that this episode is tense is an understatement. The bullets fly and the action is as good as any movie with Rick and his crew loaded up and kicking ass. For anyone that says this series is boring, you just need to point them to this episode to show how wrong they are.

It’s a brutal episode with the body count rising higher and higher as it goes on, and that’s part of the point of the episode, what folks need to do to survive and how many are they willing to kill to do so.

That is focused on really two characters, Glenn and Carol. Carol is clearly thinking about life and the people she has had to kill throughout the episode. It feels like Morgan might be getting to her a bit and showing her life really is precious. Glenn on the other hand hasn’t really killed anyone, and here he too has to make a choice along with Heath. The juxtaposition of all of that is really fascinating, showing that the show is truly about the characters who have survived and their growth in this new world.

This episode is an amazing one, and foreshadows the chaos that is to come. And that ending….
